How to deal with comments?
Urgh. I sure hear things like this also, Melissa. People who don't want to have to make changes and just want to go under the knife are plain WRONG in their thinking. The ones that I hear say things like this and I feel I can educate, I try to clarify it for them and that's gone well on a few occasions. Otherwise, I just try to let those comments roll like water off a duck's back.
I've also told my hubby that if we ever relocate, I may keep it secret that I ever had gastric bypass! ;) I'm not so sure I'm 100% happy that everyone knows.

I love Annie's response! I haven't come across this yet, but I know I will! Several people on Facebook have asked my "secret" when they saw my December to May transformation pics. I tell them what I did and that I'm not ashamed of my decision and it was either RNY or dying at an early age! When I explain how I've come off of all my medications, but one, they are impressed!
Just remember to be confident in YOUR decision and that you're living YOUR life! I've found that most of the comments are jealousy coming out!

Melissa,
You are such a strong woman. I'm afraid I would have just told them to BITE ME! So many people have no idea what we have been through with years and years of struggling just to lose 10 pounds. Keep you head high and ignore them. You are so much above them. Just think how proud your boys are of you now! Keep up the great work; you look wonderful!

Grrrrrrrrr!!! I know how that must have felt, but what you need to do is....Walk with your head held high and be soooo proud of how far you've come and what you have accomplished and how FANTASTIC you look and feel!!! Let the haters hate, they don't have a clue what you have been through, and let them sit on their duffs "Talking" about it as they still carry thier 20 to 30 lbs. Don't let them bring you down, let their little comments give you that boost of pride :)
Cant wait to see yall on Saturday!! I am getting BIGGGG!!! lol
((HUGS))
I myself in pre op phase. I go for my surgeon appt. tomorrow. So I am getting pretty close. I will admit I do dread some of the reactions. I already expect to get talked about. But I cannot let that stop me from doing what I need to do for my health and life. I think some people just tend to get jealous when someone successfully looses weight. Especially a significant amount. As we all know it is a very hard thing to do. I just hope that I can contain my temper when it happens. I will say when I get ticked sometimes I am over the top with retaliation. Yah basically a hot head as some would call it. God is gonna have to help me with that.
