A new family member

This morning Lee and I went to Fayettville to purchase a 3 week old African Gray.
WE are not sure the sex of the bird but the breeder felt the bird is female because she is the runt.
I liked the baby right away because she seemed like a little fighter.
For now until we have the test done to determine the sex we are calling the bird Sam.
This may change.

Annie, congrats on your new little feathered friend!  We used to have an African Grey, and they are great companions!  Enjoy!

Hi Lisa, Lee and I are sharing feeding Sam in hopes she will bond with us both.
I have always wanted a grey and thanks to my hubby I now have one.

Annie,

That's wonderful news!  I would love to have an African Gray, but right now I can't afford one.  I guess my little Nipper (students named him LOL) will have to do :)  I miss him b/c he's been staying with one of my students whle we do state testing.  She had offered to keep him for the summer, but these last 2 weeks have done her in.  LOL

Hi Michelle,
I never thought in a millon years I could ever afford a grey.
When I found my baby on craigslist it was at a price that was doable but still made us tighten our belts to replace the money out of savings.

Congratulations on your new baby, Annie!  I hope you and Lee both bond with Sam and have many happy years together as a family.  :)  What do the other fur-babies think of her/him?  Please keep us posted with thorough updates on how everything is going.  It will be so fun living vicariously through you in this regard!

I need to write about some of the antics that Vivienne has grown up to pull.  She keeps us in stitches!  :)

We are heading for that playoff game today.  The one that decides if we get to come to Raleigh next weekend.  Keep your fingers crossed and send some good vibes are way today at 5!  :)

GO TEAM!!!!!
I will be thinking about you and your daughter today.
I might have to bring baby Sam along to keep up with her feeding schedule.
I am thinking about getting one of those sling things people carry thier babies in.
Where I would buy one I am not sure but imagine in the baby section at Target or Walmart.
