small intestine not consistent length

At my two year, I was talking to Dr.. Jon (Pirrello) about the fact that I feel like I am more efficient than most folks in digesting food, since I have a distal bypass and still haven't lost all I wanted (and have been pretty compliant).
And to my shock and surprise, he told me that some people have longer small intestines than others.  And when a surgery is done lap, the surgeon won't usually measure the entire small intestine to determine the total length he has to deal with, but instead measures only the sections he is working with.  This is why sometimes a revision is needed.  While he may have bypassed 7 feet, it may still be less than one third of the patients small intestine.
Interesting, huh?

That is a crazy thought.  I guess everyone is different.  But I wonder if our food is absorbed in the small intestines .. do overweight people have longer small intestines?  I mean could it be part of the genetic factor for weight?  Things to ponder.

Interesting thought, and I bet is has a part to play, at least for some.  I think people are all so different that all the varying issues apply for some of us,
