OT: 3 1/2 hours, 16 innings...RALEIGH?!

Yes...literally 3 1/2 hours, 16 innings, 500 spectators...and our ladies pulled it off AGAIN!  They play Smoky Mountain this coming Friday, then they are off to Raleigh the following Friday if/WHEN they win that one!

I swear, we all agreed we have not had that much adrenaline and excitement in softball EVER!!!  lol  My voice sounds hilarious today.

So, my hernia surgery is next Thursday.  I asked someone sitting next to me last night, who has also had hernia surgery, if they thought I'd be able to make the ride to the Raleigh tournament and they felt that I would...I'd just need to take a lay-down type lounge chair.  We hope she is right.  Can't imagine missing out on seeing the girls play and hopefully win State.  I also would give anything to be able to meet you Raleigh folks!  That date is June 5 & 6...is that the date of your normal meet-up?

Other than that, things have been CRAZY busy here!  Trying to get a bunch done on the house and were interrupted by a house fire on Saturday.  We saw the smoke and flames as we were driving by 2 roads up on Saturday, so we jumped out, called 911, ran around knocking on doors warning people close by.  Thankfully the house was an old one that was unoccupied for a long time.  I FINALLY get some time this morning to catch up here.  Hope everyone is doing great and hope I will get to give out some real-live hugs next Saturday!  I'll keep ya'll posted!

Hey Shauna,

Congratulations on the win and I hope that they win the next one too!

I hope that your surgery goes smoothly and that your recovery will be gentle.

Our normal meetup is on the 3rd Saturday of each month, but I know that we'd love to see you so if you can let me know which day and time will works better for you, I'll set something up and we'll send out some invites...

I look forward to seeing you soon,

Barb,  Thanks so much.  I hope that this all works out the way it should...that the girls go to State, that my surgery goes well, and that I am able to make it to Raleigh without any regrets.    I will drop you a note hopefully Friday evening to let you know those game results.  There hasn't been any info or planning for Raleigh just yet so I am clueless as of right now.  Hope to see you soon!

I'll keep my eye out for the results.

Be sure to let Barb know. She'll rally us together. It would be great to meet you in person and steal some of that vibrant spirit from you!

Hope the girls do well and maybe see you soon!

It's like watching the Olympics when your kids are playing, even if it's just rec ball, isn't it?!

Cait is a freshman catcher and caught every JV game this season, with a sophomore and a junior alternating on varsity.  Cait has seen some 3rd base action during these playoffs, but these girls and their families are people she's played rec, travel, and school ball with for 4 years and we are just totally stoked for them!  There isn't one senior on the team, and the majority are sophomores, so we've got at least a couple more amazing HS softball years left.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to meet you in Raleigh, Ann!!!  Keep your fingers crossed!!!
