Trampolines and pork rinds and collar bones
"Santa" brought my girls a trampoline for Christmas that had a weight limit of 220lbs. I jumped on it for a minute as soon as I was under the weight limit. Got on it today and decided that it was something I need to do a little everyday. My knees get tired so fast. My girls want to see me bounce on my "booty" but I still have this fear that the thing is going to break...guess that "fat girl" mentality is still there.
Pork rinds - does anyone eat these for a snack. Seems to be a good source of protein (8g per 1.2oz) but I was wondering about the fat and sodium. Any ideas?
I was in the bathroom the other day at school washing my hands and I happened to look up at the mirror and noticed my collar bones! Of course it had a lot to do with the way I was standing but it won't be long til they're showing without bending over!!! Yay!!!
Not sure about the pork rinds. I know they're a favorite of a lot of Atkin's dieters.
Collarbones....I can see mine too in just this short while. I wasn't too thick in the top of my torso, mine's all in my belly. I can't wait til that doesn't stick out further than my top half :)
Love the topic line! I laughed out loud when I read it!! I too would have a fear of trampolines for the same reason. I'm not sure I'll ever get over that. I hadn't thought about pork rinds. I LOVE them, but as I recall BEFORE surgery, sometimes they felt like they were "stuck" if I ate them too fast. I'm guessing we may have to be careful to eat them really slowly since they are very dry. I wonder if you can get them in a lower sodium version. I am not following a super low fat regime. I do watch my fats, but I'm not finatical about it. In fact, I've decided I like the 2% fat Greek yogurt much better than the 0%. Collar bones!! I too noticed mine in the mirror washing my hands at school the other day. So, I walked into the office with a grin on my face and showed my collar bones to my principal and secretary. They smiled and chuckled at me. Everyone at my school has literally cheered for me from day one and continue to every day with constant positive comments. Although I have a lot more weight to lose, most of my weight is deposited below my boobs. Have you noticed that chairs feel a lot harder too?!?! I have to take a seat cushion with me to staff meetings now, otherwise my butt hurts in that hard chair in our library. How do skinny people sit in hard chairs with no natural butt cushioning?!?!

I still haven't gotten into the whole greek yogurt thing. I try to do cottage cheese. My mom and dad grew a pineapple this year so I had cottage cheese and fresh, homegrown pineapple for a snack today.
It's funny we both had the same experience with the collar bones! Can't wait til I can see them all the time. I shared that info with some ladies from church - one who had rny about 5 yrs ago and one *****cently had lapband - and they definitely understood. Folks at school are supportive but just aren't at the understanding level.
I do notice that chairs bother me. The pews at church are the worst!!! We have a row of padded chairs in the back so I use the excuse that my youngest won't be so much of a distraction back there. I have noticed that my feet don't hurt as much as the used to.
Will you be going to the get-together in a couple of weeks? Hope to see you!!! Have a great long weekend!!! I know I'll enjoy mine. It's just nice going to bed on Sunday night knowing that you have one more day to sleep in!!! And we're counting down the days - 12, to be exact!
I love the sleeping in part of the weekend. Even if I wake up in the moring and go to the bathroom, I almost always go back to bed. I relish sleeping in as late as I can. I love having my kitties curled up around me, under the covers next to me, and beside my pillow.
I too have 12 more days of school, but my last day of teaching is June 4th. That means I'll have 4 days to pack up my classroom. Well, actually it'll only be 3. All the "specials" teachers (music, art, PE, etc.) are coordinating the promotion celebration and DARE graduation day for the 5th graders on the last day of school and that's an all day thing. So, my plan is to have all my room packed up for the summer by June 10th, the last day of school, then I will start taking my 10 hours of flexible furlough by taking the workday off on the 11th.

I enjoy the sleeping in part as well. However I hardly ever get to. My internal alarm clock seems to go off but the house is still nice and quiet so I enjoy that time.
I have been helping with interventions this week and will continue next week then the first week in June will be the retest. My AIG classes have been suspended since I'm helping with all of that. I'm planning on getting all of my stuff packed up before the last day, too. My school secretary said that the 10 hrs were only for the classroom rteachers since the rest of us didn't need a sub. I don't think that's right since they still take time away from us when we're out. I'm going to check on it. I'm planning on working the 11th and hopefully that will be all. Cara will be going to camp that Sunday so I want to make sure I do some special things with Callee that week.
