Let's Celebrate Your Victory!

So, sitting in a 2 hour meeting with my peers (4 guys, pretty fit)

My manager brings a bag full of chocolate (Reese's and Hershey's) and a bag of huge gourmet cookies from the deli down the street!   I mean cookies so big that they made about 7 small ones. Smelling up the room with all that butter and sugar.

She tells us constantly to eat and enjoy. I REMEMBER WHEN I WOULD HAVE SAMPLED EVERYTHING ON THE TABLE!  THE FOOD ADDICT WOULD HAVE EVEN TOOK SOME FOR LATER!

Thank God for WLS. I ate nothing.

One of the better side effects is that my taste buds went through a dramatic change so chocolate is not that great anymore.

Cookies are my ABSOLUTE favorite treat,   but I am working out regularly now so I asked myself would it help me get to my goal. the answer was no, so I passed. Yes, a little in moderation is ok, but I decided today that I did not even want a little.

Remember Barb's post about recognizing the small victories! Take it one moment at a time and do not discount the those small obstacles you conquer. Tomorrow I may eat a cookie (granted it won't be that big), but today I passed

So tell me about your victory and let's CELEBRATE!

Yeah!  You won!  My victory is fitting into a dress I bought years ago. I will wear it this weekend! Its kind of a hippie/bohemian casual dress and I am happy!

I haven't been drinking enough water so today I was victorious in that I drank over 70 ounces. I will attempt to do it again tomorrow until I can make it a habit for sure.

Hey Valerie,

That little victory was HUGE!!! It's helped you lose the weight in the first place and is what is going to get you further down the road towards the latest goals you have set for yourself, but even more than that... I think it's what going to make you truly successful in the long term. You've really turned a corner my friend. Asking yourself if whatever indulgence you are considering is going to get you what you really want is powerful and impowering in sooooo many ways. I'm so proud of you.

My victory was getting back down to 142 and being happy with it.

Thanks for the thread... I needed some positive reinforcement tonight.

Congratulations on the small victories as well as the larger ones. It is so good to hear of these things happening and people's attitudes (and tastes) changing after WLS. Thank you and keep up the good work and attitude. Jackie
It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

I love to hear about your victories!  None are too small so don't discount them.

You never know when your victory may be just the encouragement someone else needs.

Thanks for the encouragement. Keep on reaching for your goals!
