Weight Loss "Side effects"

I am finding out that mny tastes have changed too.  There are things that I loved before that either I don't like or make me feel "icky".  I've noticed that certain combinations don't do well either.  For example, before rny the only way I would eat a pb&j was with a glass of milk.  Now the combination of pb and milk is yuck!  You have to relearn...everything.  But it's a good thing...like an adventure and the pros outweigh the cons - big time!

Same  here.  Right now I can't eat PB&J with out Milk.  It will be interesting to see what happens after surgery.  Thanks

I am 10 days out and

1.  Bought a pair of shoes 1 week prior to surgery.  My feet flop in them now.  All swelling in my feet and ankles have gone away.

2.  I hear some insurances are starting to cover this under a mental issue.  Stating that it causes severe depression and image issues having all the hanging skin.

3. Knock on wood, have not had this yet.

Good luck to you

I screwed up the numbers below, so I've editied it so y'all don't think I'm a big dummy who can't count!  LOL!

1) After losing 130 lbs I've had to tighten all the buckles on my sandals to the tightest slot.  If my feet get any smaller (and they will), I'll have to get all new shoes.  This is a nice problem to have.  I don't mind.

2) I'm only about halfway to goal, so I don't know what I'm going to need when I get closer to goal.  My guess is that I will want to do something about the "apron" and maybe the arms too.  Will it be medically necessary?  I don't know yet.

3) I have NEVER thrown up!  I have NEVER been nauseous.  I easily tolerate all the foods I've eaten, however, I have not eaten anything "evil" yet (like cake, ice cream, candy, etc.)

4) You will feel weak and tired for a while.  And there are malabsorption issues that play a part in this.  I am anemic and have to have IV iron infusions now.  But it's no big deal.  I'm dealing with it.  At about 5 months out I'm feeling really good now.

I see several people have replied that their tastes have changed.  After hearing this from several people I too expected this to happen, but it hasn't to me.  Everything tastes the same.  I still love shrimp and strawberries and I still hate liver and radishes.  LOL!  Nothing tastes "funny" together either.  Also, I'm not any more sensitive to tastes, i.e., salty things don't taste extra salty now and sweet things don't taste extra sweet.  I see no difference.  It is funny how everyone is so different!  But even if I did have lots of little side effects like this or thowing up (which I don't) it would ALL be worth it!!!  I have NO regrets!!  In fact, I wish I'd done this surgery years ago!!!!!

I can't count!!!!  DUH!!!!  I'm so ready for school to get out, my brain is apparently fried!  I'll go back and edit.  Summer vacation can't get here fast enough.  We have 12 more days of school, but I have only 8 more days to teach since the "special" classes (art, music, PE, etc.) end on June 4th.  I know regular classroom teachers are so jealous that we stop classes early, but hey, they're quite welcome to become "special" teachers if they want to.  All they have to do is prepare their audition piece to be accepted as a music major or put their art portfolio together to be accepted as an art major.  PE?  They're gotta be healthy and skinny, I guess.
