Home From Surgery
Hi everyone,
I had my RNY yesterday and got home around 3 this afternoon. I was up and walking last night, again at 5 this morning (couldn't sleep) and a couple more times before I left the hospital. The nurses seemed pleasantly surprised that I was moving around as good as I was. Honestly, it felt better than laying in the hospital bed. Anyway, I'm on clear liquids until Friday afternoon, then start my protein shakes. Currently, I'm only drinking 2 ounces per hour and that's about all my little pouch can handle at the moment. I'm starting to have gas pains and I hope walking helps get it out. Well, I'm a little tired right now, so I'm going to walk around the house a bit, then going to lay down. Talk to you all again soon.

So glad to hear that your surgery went so well. I hope you continue to do well. It is very reassuring to me as a preop to hear this. Jackie
It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

Congratulations!! I'm have been home for 6 days now and feeling stronger by the day. It's funny how each doctor has their own meal plan for their patients. I started out with protein and clear liquids the morning after surgery. Some people on the board say they could eat things like Jello which I was told that I could not have for 3 weeks. Odd.... But I'm glad you are home and on the mend!!

Yayyyyyy you're home!!! I'm SOOO happy that this is over for you...well, the surgery part anyway. Now it's just like others have said, sipping, walking, resting, etc. Just follow the Dr.'s orders and walk when that gas pain hits. I'm 3 weeks out, doing great and I too walked around my house to help relieve that pain. It does work. I just wanted to give you a "welcome home" shout across the State.
