Newbie

Hi Everyone,

I have been surfing OH for a while now.  Now that my surgery is less than 3 weeks away (scheduled June 8th with Dr. Gersin in Charlotte, NC), I figured I would reach out and try to meet people who are going through the same journey as me. 

I would love to here from others in the Charlotte area.

I am going to the same practice as you, I am seeing Dr. Kuwada.  I am having surgery on Monday the 25th.  I live by Concord mills (so I get to fight the race traffic for this week)   I am on Day 9 of the liquid diet right now.

Hello,

I'm new.. I'm a week out from surgery.  I'm feeling good but having a hard time with the restrictions of not driving and protein shakes.  I'm not hungry at all but am tired of the sweetness of the diet.

I was tired of it too... still am. I make cream of chicken soup, removing pieces of chicken.  Add 1 can of milk and non flavored protein.  At least there's no sweetness to any of that.

Welcome to this forum. I live on Lake Norman just north of you. I had surgery done at Frye in Hickory. I have found this forum helps a lot

If possible make it to this meeting:

Presbyterian Hospital will be starting a Support Group Meeting on the last Wednesday of the month. This first meeting will be on May 27, at 7:00PM - 8:00PM at the Hospital. Presbyterian Hospital of Huntersville is located at exit 23 off I-77. Anyone who has had bariatric surgery is welcomed. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me.  Hope to see you there.
