OT: Scheduled Hernia Repair for June 4th

And our daughter's HS team is in the playoffs right now with the Regional/State playoff scheduled for Raleigh on June 5th/6th.  June 4th was the only Thursday/Friday surgery date available, which was ideal for us, but if the girls end up going to Raleigh...oi!  My calendar/schedule has been so insane and only gets insaner.  lol

For any of you that have been following my saga, I am not traveling to Charlotte to see the specialist there now.  They looked through my records and did a phone consult.  What I have is not a "prolapse" but a "rectocele."  That is the exact thing I've had repaired once before and will now wait to have it repaired once again with an OB/GYN later down the road.

For now I am going to have Dr. Cook repair my umbilical hernia on the 4th.  I won't miss that alien bulge, that's for sure!

If anyone reading has had an umbilical hernia repair, can you please share with me your experience, either here or in a PM?  Thanks so much!

Disclaimer:  My hernia was there before my RNY, we just didn't detect it, so it is not weight-loss surgery related!  ;)

Fionna,  Thanks so much for your positive reply!  ;)  I will be really glad to get all of my health issues resolved.  I swear, I will feel absolutely invincible when they are!

We are really excited for our girls and also hope they continue to win even if I don't know how I'm going to work everything out.  lol

I've been telling my daughter about the Couch thingie ya'll are doing and she said that if I want to do it after I recover from my surgery, she'll do it with me!  Are you glad you did it and how are you feeling since you did?

Hope you have a great day!  :)

Your posts sound like you are already invincible! Some days you need to bottle that energy and send it this way!

Great to hear that your daughter offered to work out with you.

I am glad I am exercising once again

I know it is a must, but I hate exercising and so miss my couch

Honestly I feel great! The scale is not budging (my guess is I am not eating enough now) but the inches are dwindling. My clothes are fitting every loosely!

Join in when you can. My goal really is just to exercise in some manner on a regular basis.

I think having a structured program has helped me continue. I am a planner and just saying I am going to exercise every day is not structured enough for me to do it and say I accomplished something!

Have a great day!

Enthusiasm, yes...energy, no!  LOL  I must admit that I no longer love to exercise like I used to, but I do find myself with more of a spring in my step now that the weight is coming back off and I even jog here and there to get places quicker...like bathrooms when we are at parks, ballfields, etc.  lol  My kids laugh and say, "Mom, you run like this...!"  Then they imitate me with their arms up high and squeezed in at their sides.  I tell them, "That's because I'm trying to keep my boobs and my wings from flopping all over the place!!!"  LOL  So you can imagine what I will look like when I try the Couch thingie...yep...arms up high...squeezing tight!  ;)

I would almost think you were peeping in my window

The first 2 weeks I was running with the 'girls' just as free...

By week 3 I realized while I was running, I was holding them in place cause they were everywhere making all sorts of noises as they bounced off my chest

Duh! I was spending more energy trying to hold them down than on my running!

Needles to say, now when I put on the sneakers, on goes the bra!
