One Year Post Op and Carowinds!!!

Today I had my one year post op with Dr. B., and it was awesome.  He asked me if could use my before and after as an example of success.  I felt very honored.  He said he wanted to post it on his websites and use it at seminars and such.  (I have posted it on here.)  Though I dislike the before picture, I cannot tell you what that meant to me.  :)

All my labwork was great, and he said he was proud. 

Then, I went to Carowinds!!!  Last year I drove by there right after surgery and so wanted to go but at 400 + pounds that was impossible.  Today I rode every ride and I even felt like some were too loose.  Who would have ever thought.  I was so comfortable, and I had a blast!

I am about 3 and 1/2 months out and 2 weeks ago I was able to go to Busch Gardens with the afterschool group where I teach - my daughter was a part of that group.  I was able to fit in all of the rides (even though I'm still a chicken and wouldn't ride any roller coasters except for Big Bad Wolf).  I rode the Katapult with my daughter and when she slammed the door (door with a bar on the inside) thought I had hurt something!  I should have closed it easily but I was a little too confident that everything would work.  Just be careful.  I did have a blast though and my daughter now loves roller coasters so I have to get over my fear! 

Congrats!  I knew you could do it!  

I have a video on You Tube of my first trip to Carowinds postop.  It is an INCREDIBLE feeling, isn't it???

Congrats.  I can totally relate to the roller coaster thing.  :)  Dean and I went to Busch Gardens in August and I rode EVERYTHING!  :)  It is cool not to have to worry about not fitting in a ride.
