Great News! NOT!

So I just found out this morning that I indeed will have my gallbladder removed.

I had an attack Sunday which was pretty severe.  The ultrasound today showed stones and inflammation.  So, Dr. Cook and Dr. Hata are going to talk my health situation over and come up with a plan of attack.

For those who may not remember, I had five blood clots about 1 1/2 weeks after my RNY.  NOT DUE TO THE RNY but I was diagnosed with Lupus Anticoagulant.  Therefore, I am on coumadin daily and probably the rest of my life.  So, I am right now scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 or earlier.  The drs are going to call me back today and let me know what and how everything is going to happen.

At any rate, when I checked in yesterday I have lost a grand total of............................................are you ready?.......................81 lbs in just under 5 months!!    I am soooo happy about that!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Pam

Pam,  I know it's a worry but I have no doubt that you are in the very best of hands.  :)  Please keep us posted and you will be close in our thoughts.  You are the 3rd friend today (the others via phone calls) that are undergoing medical emergencies...gallbladder, liver/kidney, heart...sheesh!  When it rains, it pours!  AND WOMAN...-81 POUNDS IN UNDER 5 MONTHS?!?!?!  I shoulda had you breathe on me before my surgery!!!  lol  ;)  CONGRATS!!!

Hi Pam,

First of all, I want to congratulate you on your incredible weight loss. That is just phenomenal!

I'm sorry to hear that you need to have your gall bladder removed and that it is complicated by your lupus diagnosis. I am sure that since they know what to look out for and are working on a 'plan of attack' you will be well cared for and can expect a much smoother recovery from this surgery.

Wishing you all the best,

Barbara

Pam,

I hope everything goes well. I had mine removed on 4/20. I will not lie it did hurt. I was in a lot of pain the first 4 days.

I hope they figure out how to do the surgery and keep you safe.

Keep us updated.

Tamara

Sorry to hear about the ole rotten gallbladder.  I had mine out about a year ago and am so glad its gone.  I was very sick for the first 9 months of WLS and it was due to my gallbladder.  Mine was so full that Dr. K had to cut my belly button a bit to get it out.  It was no more painful than RNY and I was back to work after a week.  :)

I pray that everything goes well.  :)  Congrats on the 81 pounds!
