So far so good

I saw my Surgeon yesterday for my six month follow up. I weighed in with all my clothes on at 181.4 pounds and that puts me at a loss of around 85 pounds. (That matches my home scale with same clothes on 30 minutes later) My labs were great and my iron is nearly up to low normal from nearly non existant 4 months ago. I love my ablasion cause I really believe that made the difference there plus the fact that I do take iron. My A1c has dropped more and was at 5.1 which is normal not diabetic and great! I won't bore anyone with the rest of the numbers and stats but nothing outside of the ranges was far and most everything was near center. I must be doing something right. This mornings weigh in put me at 178.7 pounds and I just can't be happier with my progress so far. I hope to see most everyone that can make it Saturday morning at Perkins (be sure you read Barb's last update to the Meet-up as the venue has been changed) in Raleigh.

You are certainly doing something right!  Congratulations!  I was hoping for -75 lbs. at 6 months out, but I think I'm going to have to settle for a bit less (my surgiversary is next Thursday).  -85 looks stupendous to me!  ;)  How did the job hunt in Raleigh go?  My hubby works for a GM dealer so don't you think we are waiting with baited breath for news today.

I guess that would be scary. I hope his dealership can make it past the cuts. As for me I haven't heard anything yet but I am hoping and I will keep sending out resumes. Leaving Camp Bow Wow will be a little sad but I can't make a living there. I will miss my boss and all the dogs though. And I will have to really go to the gym regularly if I get a desk job again. But thats not such a bad thing is it?
BTW I am almost 8 months out and a little late getting my appointment scheduled so you are still where I was about at six months so you know it will continue to progress for you. I think I am at an average of a little more than 11 pounds of loss a month. Better than I could ever do before surgery thats for sure LOL!

Well they got their letter from GM which stated how to eliminate Saab and proceed from there.  I'm hoping this is the last bullet they will need to dodge.  Thankfully hubby is auto body so losing the GM franchise would not have closed the doors on what he does...it would have just meant another game plan, but still.  We were really hoping for good news for the company today.  It seems they got it.

I am really hopeful for you regarding finding a job in/near Raleigh even though I know you will miss the doggies and your current employer.  I think I would do good at a job like that.  Everywhere we go, I am the crazy lady running over to people asking, "Is your dog friendly?  May I pet it?"  Then I tend to talk and smooch all over the dog and ignore the owner!  LOL  For real!  ;)  I just got me some lovin' in on a little Boston at the MS softball game last night.  What a cutie she was!  If I could do an in-home bed and breakfast for toy dogs, that would be so ideal.

Aha about being a bit late on the appointment.  If I'm about where you were at 6 months, then that makes me sooo happy!  You are one of my idols on here and I can only hope to aspire to do as well as you!  :)

Speaking of idols/aspiration...have you (or anyone else) heard from or seen Iris recently?  I am really missing her.

{{{Big hugs}}} 'n hope you have a great weekend!  :)

Edited:  To break the post back up into paragraphs, I hope!
