Raleigh NC area......

Unrelated to my surgery but close to my heart....my daughter has started planning on moving to Raleigh, NC this summer and I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of the Lake Lynn Apartments.  Please feel free to contact me with any information about the Raleigh area that someone just moving and starting there would need.  Thank so much for your help.  This sight has been such a help in my surgery and recovery that I thought I would look someplace I already trust for help.  Thanks,   Sharon

There are alot of apartments around Lake Lynn.  No sure which ones she is looking at.  Will she have a room mate?  Living alone?   There are plenty of apartments though in that area and close surrounding areas. 

One of the apartments near lake lynn had a murder about 4-5 years ago.  Single girl living on first floor.  But I have heard they have beefed up security patrols, changed locks, added lighting.

I believe that the apartment complex that she is looking at is near the intersection of Lynn and Leesville Roads. It's in pretty nice area of Raleigh ... It's about 10 minutes from the airport and is an area that is mostly suburban and upper middle-class. I live about a mile and half away and would be glad to be a contact to help her get acquainted in the area. Lake Lynn is an actual man made lake that has a walking trail and a good sized community center associated with it. 

I'm not very familiar with the specific apartment complex, but as one of the other members mentioned there was a murder in one of the apartment complexes nearby. I have to say that I think that the murder was an anomaly and I am not at all concerned about living in the area. 

There is a police substation within about 3 miles or so of the area where we live. It has one of the most sought after schools and the general area is considered one of the more desirable neighborhoods in Raleigh.

As Barb said, that's a pretty safe area - I just asked one of my buddies who is an officer for the RPD (I'm a paramedic, got all the connections, haha) and he checked their database and said he didn't see anything substantial that had happened there anytime recently.
