I live outside Rocky Mount, near "The Triangle" (as I'm told it's called ;)).

I will be attending a seminar this coming Tuesday on the lap band at Duke. I haven't committed to a type of surgery yet or a physician. Just thought I'd pop in and say Hello! :)

Welcome to the NC forum. I think that you will find it to be a warm, welcoming place to share ideas, gather and share information.

I had my surgery at Duke in 2007. My husband had his in 2008. They have 5 surgeons and are an ASBS Center of Excellence. I always suggest you check with multiple programs. You will find that there are several in the Triangle. There are also several others available in the area... here is a link to Bariatric Surgeons in NC. I'd keep an open mind about the type of surgery and practice as you gather information. I started out wanting LapBand and found that the RNY was the right one for me, but I didn't know that until I'd done a lot of investigation and talked with the surgeons about my own health issues, lifestyle, etc...
