I'm sorry I have not been very active on the board lately. I've been working....then planting garden....then putting an underground dog fence around 2 acres of our yard..we may go around more later. The fence says it can handle 20 acres. I seem to be stuck at 168  lbs. I am in a size 14 for the most part. 16's are generaly to large. I am in large and xlg tops. I kinda like this size. My pouch still holds about 1/2 cup.  I still stay away from sugar and i have found that either Mayo or lettuce or both make me dump....even a very small amount. I think it is the mayo, since other dressings do not affect me. It is a good thing that I am not hooked on mayo.  It is probably bad but...I do occassionaly eat fried foods but very small amounts.  Bread is still hard for me to tolerate.  Left over chicken is a no no also. I also have trouble with broccoli and I use to love it.

I think it would be interesting to know what foods make YOUR pouch buddy mad  and what makes you dump.

We are all so different.

List your failure food  and what it does to you.

Remember pre...wls people. Your BAD foods most likely will be all your own.

I use to love Chinese or Japanese foods   but now mexican makes pouchy baby happier.

I love broccoli, and i'm able to eat it, and green beans fresh green beans not in a can...
I can not eat anything greasy, salad dressings, mayo you name it, fried foods make me ill..
i haven't had bread yet, i'm still new to all this. My biggest thing that makes me wish i never ate it is ground meat, like ground beef, ground chicken, and turkey... Ugh i get so sick and don't know why.
My husband and son loves Speggeitie and meat balls, so i make it, and regret eating after i have one or two meat balls.. I have tried different ways of making them, and different ways of cooking them thinking they get to dried out.. But it happens too if i have a hamburger patty. so it has to do with it being ground... I do love me a nice piece of steak.. my pouch loves it, where others can't handle steak.
Take care

HB works fine with me, matter of fact any ground meat is OK. Mayo is a killer. Even at a 16months out I am afraid of any type of pasta.
Good Luck with your progress

Hi Myrtis,

It's so good to hear from you my friend. I'm glad to hear that you are so well and active. I think that you have arrived at your perfectly, perfect size that allows you to be healthy, happy and lovely as can be!

Unfortunately or fortunately, I can eat anything without consequence... unless you consider an upward scale a consequence... lol. I have to keep the rules in mind and eat what i should eat instead of what I'm drawn to eat when I'm under duress.

Great thread!

Love,

Barb,
I hope to see you at the next meet in Raleigh., There are some times of the month ...even after menapause I seem to crave something. I seem to eat more hunting for what I crave durng those days. I still can't eat but about a half of a cup at a time. Thank Heavens!  I do eat some fried foods unfortunantly with no problem.
Hope to see you soon

Hey Myrtis...

Like Barbara I can eat pretty much anything.  Ice Cream of any kind makes me dump,  so I just stay away from it.  Other than that nothing really makes me dump.  If I eat too much sugar I get shaky and hyper.  But on the other hand, if I haven't eaten enough I get shaky too...  So I try for a happy medium.  I have been the same weight now for about 3 years, if I can loose the 25lbs I put back on I'd be happy but I am happy at this weight also.  My failure food is CHOCOLATE!!!  I didn't eat ANY for the first 3 years PO but since that first bite it's been trouble!  Bread, potatoes, rice and pasta still aren't really my thing... but CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  dang it!

Have a great weekend!  I'm gonna go take a nap - gotta work tonight.

Sheryl,
I love chocolate also but I eat sugar free and it gives me GAS!!!!!
I use it AS a weapon when my DH eats pintos. I figure since my loosing has come to a standstill....I will probably regain some but I hope it is no time soon.

Anything with lots of carbs... bread, sugar, pasta...tends to make me feel queasy.  So it's easy to avoid it.  I don't miss them...fried foods, unfortunately, are NOT a problem, although I don't eat that many of them.  I eat lots of nuts and seeds and high-protein foods.  Probably too much, as I tend to be a grazer, but the only thing that makes me feel like crap is carbs.

I am sure your weight loss journey, like mine, is not over yet... but I do think it's a bit harder for us older gals to shed it.  Or maybe I am just making excuses for myself!  LOL  I do need to exercise, I know, if I want to lose these last 20 lbs!

I eat alot of nuts also. I know they have a lot of fat but it is better than candy and cake. I might would be more suceessful if I would exercise. I am still shooting for loosing 15 more lbs but if I don't I am happy here.

I have been super lucky!  I seem to be able to eat anything.  I have NOT had evil things though, like cake, ice cream, candy, etc.   The only thing I had some trouble with one time was re-heated shrimp.  It got stuck.  That was when I was very early out.  I really haven't had trouble with any foods since then.

I was at a staff meeting last week where finger foods were served.  I ate a few nuts, then decided to be brave and try the raw veggies from the veggie tray.  No problem!  I ate 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 little pieces of broccoli, one piece of cauliflower, and 2 baby carrots, all dipped in ranch.  It all went down without a hitch!  I am very pleased with my experience so far.  No matter what I try, I seem to be able to tolerate anything.  I do chew the heck out of everything though, so maybe that's why.
