You are doing a fantstic job. Dumping is no fun. It will certainly keep me in check. Broccoli and sometimes lettuce are my only touchy veggies. I must not chew them enough.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks!  How are you doing?  I see you had your surgery almost exactly a year before mine.

I haven't been active either...just so busy with finishing up the school year and getting ready to move to Texas.

I can eat anything, but I never allow myself to have more than 4 oz. of ANYTHING...I'm not going to lie.  I've eaten cakes, cookies, icecream..but literally a bite or tiny piece.  There are only two things in this world (and believe me I've tried them all...LOL) that make me sick:

1. any kind of soft icecream-I can eat hard icecream, but any kind of soft icecream like McDonald's or Wendy's Frostie or any shakes, makes be very sick...sick like I can't move and I'm going to die.

2. the other day I had a dixie cup full of chex mix that was mixed with M&M's, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips...not sure what did it...I eat M&M's by themselves, peanut butter and I've had chocolate chips before.  May have had a sugar overload.  Oh dear lord I paid for that!!!

Bread doesn't bother me, but it still feels a little difficult to get down so I limit myself to one piece per day.

Potoatoes don't bother me either, but they feel totally weird in my mouth now so I try not to eat them.

I'm in my 10 month post-op and the weight loss has slowed down to about 3lbs. per month.  I currently weigh about 149 lbs.  If I never lost another lb. I'd be ok...My doctor says my goal should be 130, but I'm between a size 8 and 10.  I feel like I look good and feel unbelieveable.

Anyone have food texture issues after surgery???

Yeah I still have problems with textures and I'm over 6 years PO.  I don't like anything gummy or potatoes and pasta, can't handle the texture.  I used to LOVE pasta and potatoes but now - not so much...  Not complaining because I shouldn't have these things anyway, I wish I didn't like the texture of chocolate... lol!!

Have a great week!

I eat no sugar added icecream just fine. I have not tried any other kind. I can get away with just a little of something with sugar but I have to be very careful. I have a few issues with food textures aslo. It sounds as if you have just about reached the golden ring of goal. Congratulations on being so close.

Getting to that point of being able to eat most anything but very careful about recording all of it.
The past week I found myself totally grazing on some Ritz chip baked crackers left over from a demo.
I threw a bag away and gave a bag to a friend.
Snack foods are evil for me so best thing for me is not to have them around.

Annie,
Do any foods make you dump or are they hard for pouchy to handle? I eat some snack food but I try to bag it at a serving size or less. I put it in baggies to keep me out of trouble.
How is birdie doing?

I feel to much sugar will give me the same feelings like Shauna had described.
Ice cream is a complete no no not even SF
Very good idea about putting snack foods in single serving baggies.

My failure foods:  Sugar (generally over 15g) and fried foods.

My symptoms:  Honestly, just general malaise.  Like I'm coming down with the flu.  It passes within about 10-15 minutes, sometimes 30.  No potty issues, gosh darnit.  I could use somma those!  lol

I normally try to stay with things that have more than 2 digits sugar grams.  I sometimes go with things in the low 10's, but not too close to 20.  As for fried foods, I ate part of one of hubby's Chickfilet chicken tenders early on and then part of one of Fatz Cafe fried green tomatoes this past weekend with the same results.  I am honestly GLAD to have these side effects because it helps my entire family to make healthier choices right along with me.  I sincerely hope they never need WLS.

I handle sugar like you do. I try to keep it a 6gs or less.  You have come along way.
I wish for you a continued success.
