My mother has lived with me for the better part of the past 8 years... Some of it has been rocky, but we are good friends. This past year, she has spent most of it in CA. She just came back and it was a really hard trip for her. She has idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, so it is very similar to someone who has emphysema and she is slowly suffocating. She uses a concentrator, but the volume is going up at a rapid rate. At any rate, the pulmonologist said that when she flies home to Ca, it is likely the last time she'll be able to fly. So, with a heavy heart, I'll fly her home to CA where she is surrounded with friends and her congregation, knowing that I may not see her again. My heart is just shattering... I'll stay in CA with her for a week or two and my daughter will spend the summer, then fly home. 

Please pray for her safe journey home and that she not suffer terribly.

I will pray for your mother, you, and your family.  I cannot imagine seeing my mother suffer.  I am sure it is a terrible thing.  I pray the Lord will comfort her and you in the time to come, and give you a peace that only He can give.  Keep us updated.

I ask for Angels to surround your mother and keep her in the comfort of God's Love.  Squeeze her tight during the time you have with her,  then know Peace.  I lost my Mother on May 2, 2006, and still remember the good stuff. Live in love now. Deb

Thanks Deb... I lost my father about Jan 24, 1996 and know how important it is to share the time we do have. Hopefully, she'll be with us comfortably as long as possible. I'm so sorry for your own loss. Thank you for your loving concern.
