The time has come...revision surgery

After a long journey with my LapBand the time has come to move on. Sadly me and my band did not work well together and my weight loss has been very disappointing if not down right sad.
I have met with my surgeon and we will be submitting to insurance next week for approval to have a revision to RNY.
I'm both excited and scared of this new path. Here's to hoping insurance goes through without a hitch and I'm on my way to becoming healthy...once again.

Gosh, Wendy, you must be so discouraged!  I am sorry to hear your band didn't do the trick for you.  Many is the time that I wish I had had a different procedure done, now that I know more about other options...I am not all that impressed with my weight loss, although I am VERY grateful to be healthy again.  I will keep my fingers crossed that your insurance approval will go through with no glitches.  Keep us posted.

Awe...sorry you feel bad about your choice. Your BMI is very good...can I ask why your not happy with your wt loss? Imagine going through all of this only to be down 10lbs....now that's very sad
Thanks for the x fingers...I need all of the good juju I can find :)

Gosh I didn't mean to sound ungrateful... I am just being a brat, is all... wishing it had fallen off faster and at a greater rate.  Seems like forever since I have lost a pound!  In fact I have actually gained a couple of pounds.  I know I sound like a brat.  I am so short and have such tiny bone structure, that I would have liked to have gotten down to a BMI of no more than 22 and I just can't break out of this 24-plus scene.  Of course I still well remember the days when I was in the low 40s so I am grateful.

Your disappointment is real and not any different from many others. If your a brat...your a brat...LOL We all have in our head what we want and until we reach it...we keep longing. It can still happen for you, it just might take a bit more discipline...that the hard part for all of us!
Thanks for being honest!
Best wishes!

Wendy,  I am hopeful that you will get your approval and that this time your procedure will be a success for you.  I've been sooo happy with my RNY.  After extensive research of all my options, I just knew it was the right surgery for me and now that I'm post-op, I have no doubt that it was the perfect surgery for me.  Will be so glad to hear that end up feeling the same way.  My fingers are crossed for you!

Thank you for asking about the remodel!  We are still working hard on it...it's one of the reasons I have vanished from most everything that isn't either softball or house remodel related!  This is a 6 bedroom, 4 bathroom home that is 3 stories and we are remodeling it both inside and out.  Since hubby works full-time and our daughter's HS softball year began a few months ago, it has been really slow going.  Our goal is to have it finished by next spring, when we may even put it on the market if it looks like the economy has recovered well enough.  We've ALMOST got the downstairs finished and we have just about all the materials we need to finish the exterior over the summertime.  I swear that one of these days I will post photos so that everyone who knows about our project can see what we've been up to...it's just not photo-worthy quite yet!  ;)  Great to "see" you again too and, again, thanks for asking!

I have a feeling the revision will go well for you. I am sorry the lapband didn't work as well a you had hoped. For me I have a need for patience. My weight is falling off but of course I wanted it to just slough off like a snake's skin or something LOL!  I am glad I chose the procedure I had (RNY) and it has been a very easy recovery for me. I wish the same for you.
