Hi! I finally got my surgery date scheduled and find myself really nervous!!! I had originally started out wanting to get the lapband surgery, but my doctor felt I would have better weight loss results with the gastric. Any advice anyone can give me?

It will be here before you know it - take this little breather to educate yourself as much as you possibly can.

Congratulations!!!!
- Iris

I'm excited for you too.  I have my RNY schedule for June 8, 2009 in Raleigh.  I'm both nervous and excited.  Looking forward to starting a new life!!

I did the same - thought on my first consult that I would do LapBand - but by the time I left I had changed my mind.  I haven't regretted my decision at all!!  Like Iris said, educate yourself as much as possible and remember that you are doing this to make yourself healthier.  I wasn't nervous until I had an actual date, either,  but the time will pass quickly.

Well- I do alot of gardening and I realized about 2 weeks ago  that I have not taken a prescription ibuprophen or a tylenol or an aspirin in months! no aches or pains!  no taking breaks just to sit down and rest.  Yes, I am starting to look like a "sharpei" like everyone describes it but I am 55 years old and have no plans to wear a thong on the beach.
