Hiatal Hernias??? Input and Help Please!!!

Found out I have a sliding type hiatal hernia. I am only 25 years old and have just gotten this within the last year. My upper GI showed this. I had one done a year ago and it showed NOTHING.

Does anyone else have any input on this kind of hernia? Do most surgeons repair it while doing the RNY?

Anyone had trouble with this. Please let me know.

I had one preop.  I knew it was there prior to the EGD cause it would feel like a broom handle was being shoved against my chest where my esophogus and the stomach met when I would drink alcohol or eat certain foods.

Yes, the doc fixed it while I was in surgery.  It reoccured later, but is gone again.

I had a hiatal hernia and my surgeon repaired it when he did my RNY. I used to die with heart burn , I have not had any since surgery.
