Planted 100 bulbs....(long)

Yesterday Lee and I planted over 100 bulbs unfortunatly we wont be able to enjoy them until next spring but we are both satisfied with what yard work we have both done this weekend.
Yesterday we had a small weenie roast outside with just two of our nieghbors.
OMG I ate a hot dog with a bun I have not had a hot dog in almost two years mainly because I was nervous it might get stuck.
I wasent able to eat the whole thing but ate enough of it to where I could say I had a hot dog LOL
Now as far as my husband and our friends they were all able to eat two hot dogs and yes I thought about it but knew physically the pouch would not allow it.
I was also able to have a large spoonful of baked beans.
Another nieghbor came over and brought me some clothes.
She said everytime she sees me walking the dogs she says I look smaller.
She brought me some shorts size 14 .
I thanked her but as I told Lee last night with my lymphadema and my legs I dont plan on wearing shorts any time soon maybe in the house only.
While working outside I have gone sleevless this has been very hard for me to do and yes I have large angel wings but I figure with the heat and my hot flashes and being in my own yard  I can go sleevless.

Your bulbs are going to be so lovely come next spring!  It's amazing how much life changes as the weight falls off.  I am biting at the bit wanting to do landscaping now and I haven't had those thoughts since we moved to NC in 2002!  We have an area where I am going to start planting some ground cover soon and hoping to fill in a rather large area.  I'm looking forward to the project...I've come a long way, baby!  lol

Yummy about the weenie roast!  A few weeks back I tried a hotdog on bun at a softball game and, like you, I couldn't fini**** all, but it was one of those sweet victory moments.  :)  One of my fave things right now is to have a veggie dog sliced up in Bush's vegetarian baked beens.  Yum, yum! 

The weenie roast sounded like fun and that's such great news about the clothes!  Have you tried the shorts on yet and did they fit?  If not yet, you will be in them soon, I have no doubt!  Wear those babies around the house for sure.  I really like my Bermuda length shorts.  ;)  So glad you have the courage to go sleeveless around your house/neighborhood.  I love sleeveless tops so I'm really hoping I will be able to wear them in public without needing PS first eventually!

I have to start my clear liquid diet today at noon for my procedure on Wednesday so I need to grab my last bite of real food now.  I know my eyes are going to be bigger than my pouch knowing I can't eat again until Wednesday or Thursday!  :)  Hope you have a great day!

At the moment I am watching Birdy totally enjoy a cherry Ludens cough drop he goes ape over them so I have to hide them from him LOL.
Good luck on your landscaping ideas it is a very good feeling to look back at what you can create with nature.
BTW I have 3 topsy turvy planters hanging on my back deck.
Are you or anyone else worried about this swine flu?

Annie,  I'm having my first colonoscopy done tomorrow.  Fun, fun (NOT!). 

How cute about your lil' birdy loving cough drops!  That is so funny! 

I have been seeing those topsy turvy planters advertised and I think they are just so cool.  We really wanted to do some tomato plants this year now the we've had enough trees taken away from the house to let some sunshine through.  It really killed me to have those trees taken down but the difference in sunlight is amazing.  I used to feel I suffered from a bit of seasonal depression in the SUMMER time!  Those tree canopies just wouldn't let a drop of light through them once they leafed out each year.  Anyway, I think we could do some tomato plants in containers on the patio now.  :)  Guess we need to get them planted if we're going to do it!

Me?  Worried about the swine flu?  Honey, do you remember me confessing at one point in time that I am one of the most paranoid people born?  lol  Yes, I am certainly watching the news closely and trying to keep my paranoia in check.  How about you?

My plantings are not nearly that ambitious cause we might have to move before summers over. But I still wanted to plant some things so we planted in hanging pots and regular pots and put them out front. I may have waited too long to plant the spring bulbs I got from Costco though. They looked like dry roots with a stick by the time I put them into the pot. I will water them and see if any survived though LOL! I planted a pot of Strawberries and a pot of tomatoes and DH is planning to plant his eggplant and bell peppers in pots too. I definitely have a gray or black thumb so though I am really hopeful I am a bit doubtful.
At Costco I get a hot dog and break off about a third of it and wrap up the rest for someone else. I can eat most of that piece I break off with my favs - ketchup, mustard & pickle relish and really enjoy it. Usually who ever is with me can eat the other piece and they can fix it the way they like. I have avoided baked beans because of the sugar but maybe a spoonfull would be okay. I will have to test that one. My refried beans are getting a bit old and tired.
DH has been a bit alarmed at the flu thing but I think I will just continue to stay as healthy as I can and hope that I have a great immune system to handle it if it comes my way. I am sure the Docs will advise me when I see them next month as to what precautions they want me to take like the flu shot etc.
I hope you at least try on the shorts cause whether or not you actually wear them doesn't matter but knowing they fit can do wonders for your self esteem LOL!

I am thinking about trying on the shorts but will never wear them outside LOL
I seem to have possibly strained my knee yesterday so I am relaxing a little today I will take mother to the pool this afternoon.
Mother called and wanted to know if I would wear a mask and then was telling me to quit my job because of the different cultures of people that shop where I work.
I bit of an alarmest to say the lest but I know she has my best intrest at heart.
No I am not quitting my job.

Great job planting all those bulbs!  My husband and I worked in the yard this weekend also but didn't do nearly as much as  you.  My back has been hurting so he wouldn't let me do much.  I'm having a spinal injection Thursday so that should help.  My surgery is 21 days away, and yes I'm counting down.  Can't wait to be 2 years out as you and do all your doing. 

I was in the yard just this morning and, before I knew it, about 2 hours had passed by!  I was just piddling (pulling weeds, fluffing mulch, light pruning), but before...I would have lasted maybe 30 minutes in the heat we've been having. 

BTW ladies..I DID have my shorts on!!  Woo-Hoo!!  (calm down...calm down) 

Jason if I can go sleevless you can wear your shorts LOL
I find it a miricle to be able to do anything in the heat.
I normally would wilt like a flower.
