Seems to me that it is very difficult to jog on the treadmill.  What setting do you put yours on?  Can't tell if mine is set too slow or too fast or if it's just such an odd thing for me to do.

When I did this before, I would walk around 3 - 3.5 mph and jogging would be between 4 - 4.5 mph depending on where I was in the program.

You might try that?

Yeah, when I did this before, I remember that feeling of time speeding up.

I once asked when the "runner's high" hit, hoping they would say 5 min or 10 min.. they said typically they would force themselves to run to 30 minutes, and at that point, the high would take over.  I wasn't happy.

Well, I may not get to go to the gym today.

Due to a setback from my surgery on Wednesday, I'm now on clear liquids only for 4-5 days.  If I'm doing my math correctly, I've gotten in less than 500 cals today (coffee w/ milk, 10oz of plain greek yogurt, 1 protein shake before the clears began.. and since then, only 3/4 a box of SF jello...)

So I don't know.  But of course, will keep up with y'all.  We'll see.

Well,

I am going to be a very sloooowwww couch to 5k. I had gallbladder surgery last Monday so keep that in mind.

i went and walked today. I walked 10 minutes only walking. Then I started jogging for 30 seconds 4 times. I did 45 seconds 2 times and then I think the rest was walking. Still having some pain in my left side.

I am proud of myself, don't get me wrong. But jogging at 240 pounds is not as easy as I was hoping.

OMG !!!!!  I DID IT !!!

 I DID IT !!!! I DID IT !!!

I just got back in. The 20 minutes worked out to be 2 full laps of the lane that David lives on - luckily most of the homes are small summer vacation cottages so there are only a handful of folks in residence right now. It felt so incredibly WEIRD to jog/shuffle/waddle/whatever you want to call it. But I did it I tell you. I never in a millon years imagined that I would ever jog -------and like it-------and want to do it again.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Good for you!!!  I did not get it done yesterday...life got in the way.  I need to start getting up in the morning and doin it but I just can't see to get my lazy butt out of the bed.  Have my 3 month appt. today with Dr. Chapman so I hope to do it when I get home tonight.  Hubby will be at the firehouse, I'll send the kids to bed early...sounds like a plan.
