Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

I'll be doing mine later this afternoon.

Thxs I will let you know how I do on the treadmill this morning.

OK - if you hear fits of laughter coming from Northeastern NC later this afternoon- It'll be because there are people around the park looking at me. I'll be headed to the park around 6:30 this evening.

Ok I'm trying to figure out when I can get to the gym today but I will get there somehow even if I have to go tonight.

I wonder how to "configure" the treadmill for that. Guess I'm just going to have to do it manually. Keep me posted on all the progress.

BTW...got my first "fill" over a week ago and I'm still stuck on the weight loss. Just can't seem to get to "One"derland. Getting frustrated. Maybe this new workout schedule will help get me over the hump. I've already been doing 2 miles walking everyday but I'm sure I need to push myself harder.

I hope everyone that is doing this C25K progresses well.

Hi Gidget,
I know it sounds strange but try to figure out the calories you are taking in and the calories you are burning working out.
You maybe in starvation mode and when that happens the body tends to hold on to fat for dear life you may need to increase your calories.

Hi Annie,

Yeah I was kind of thinking that too. I just haven't wanted to eat and I'm always so busy I sometimes forget to. I'll try to do better about that cause I know that I'm burning many more calories than I am taking in.

Thanks for the info. And also congrats on the yard work. I know how it feels when you can see the progress you've made in the yard. I have a black thumb so when you are finished with your yard can you come fix mine...lol.

I'm looking forward to running a 5k soon!!!

When I figured out a few months ago I was only taking in 65 calories I though no way.
I was buring around 1200-1500 a day.
So long story short I reduced my workout to around 1000 5 days a week and am trying to increase my intake to 2000-2300 a day not an easy thing to do.
I use sparkpeople.com every day and at first I thought how in the world am I going to record a tablespoon of this and that.
I have found the calories can add up even if we dont feel we are eatting that much.
I guess by recording everything it helps me see what I am doing.
BTW I dont weigh except like maybe every 3 months I focas on NSV mainly because of the extra skin issues I have.

I've done this program before, so here's what I did then.

Jogging would be at 3 - 3.5 mph and jogging would be at 4 - 4.5mph, depending on where I was in the program.  At the beginning, of course, I was going at the slower speeds.

Here goes....

I participated in the MS walk on Saturday. I was able to do the entire 5k walk without stopping. Took me 1hr 45 min, walked alone, and even forgot my ipod,  but it was a great workout! My body is truly feeling it (sore leg muscles as I really pumped those hills). So I expected this morning to be quite difficult.

Set the clock for 5am and started just about 5:35am after getting warmed up and getting hubby and myself ready for work.

I DID IT WITH NO PROBLEMS! I am so amazed! I did not ache or get to a point where I said I just cannot do it. I did work up a little sweat but it was quite invigorating! I am shocked that I can jog!

Gidget I did it manually (way too many controls on the treadmill to configure it). Good luck to those who will be taking on the challenge! I know you can do it too!

I am routing for you!

Well that was a new experince! I did  it to the best of my ability.
I did notice I got very winded which I feel is a good sign.
I also was keping a close eye on the timer on the treadmill wishing the minute would go by faster LOL
