irregular heart rate
has anybody noticed that if they wait to long to eat their heart skips a beat or two--I have notice that if I go 4 to 5 hours past lunch my heart starts skipping a couple of beats to the point I feel it in my chest-no shortness of breath, just feels like my heart sinks in my chest-after eating high protein-I feel better about 20 minutes later-I think I will mention this to my medical doctor-I had a stress test done last year and all was fine-but I do take medicine for a fast heart rate and I have notice that my blood pressure is running 115/62 when they took it at the doctor's office-I hope this is just due to lack of electrolytes-I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before.

I just saw this post - sorry so long to answer. I am pre-surgery, but what you describe sounds like a drop in blood sugar. I'm hypoglycemic, and when my blood sugar drops, I feel like my heart is beating irregularly, I feel a general nervousness, as if something bad is going to happen, and feel a bit dizzy. Usually some protein helps within about 10 to 20 minutes.
Is it a good idea to wait 4 to 5 hours between meals? I don't know - for some maybe, but with the small amounts you ingest, I'm guessing your blood sugar is dropping and you might want to have a string cheese or something like that handy that you can carry with you in case that happens.

Thanks Kristopia for your response--it could be the issue-I use to be diabetic and had alot of low blood sugar incidents-it could be another way my body could be telling me my blood sugar is getting low-I thought about the amount of food my body consumes in a day and it is not alot so that could be the issue. Thanks again and great hearing from you!!
