Fabulous news from Deb_M ... Maya @ 12 wks ... and pictures
As many of you know our dear friend Deb_M delivered her sweet angel, Maya Leigh at 27 weeks. Maya has been steadily making progress and this week has made a major milestone!

Maya – 12 Weeks Old
Well, this is the best update since we announced her arrival…Maya is coming home!!!
It’s been a whirlwind of a week. They said a switch would flip and things would just all start to come together and they were right! She is eating all of her food on her own (from mom and bottle) and the tube is gone!!! What a treat to see her beautiful face without anything attached! On Friday she moved out of her isolette into an open bassinet (pic attached.) We were a little concerned how she would react to the extra noise and stimulation, but she showed us by gaining 2 more ounces that night. Her eye exam yesterday was so-so. Her right eye seems to be getting a little worse, but the Dr’s are still holding out hope that they’ll correct themselves, so they don’t want to rush the surgery. We’ll be taking Maya back up there next Wed or Thurs for another exam.
But, everything else has really come together. Maya has proved her Rock Star status and all of her caretakers agree that she’s ready to come home!!! Ryan, Maya and I are staying in a Care by Parent room at the hospital tonight. (Wednesday) That way we get an opportunity to take care of her completely and can still get help if we need it. Then tomorrow (Thursday) we’ll be headed home! I still can’t believe it, and get teary-eyed just typing it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you - for all the prayers, support and love that have gotten Maya (and us) this far. We’ve been blessed with incredible family and friends and can’t wait for you all to meet our precious little girl!
