Hi Dee,

Generally, the appointment with the anesthesiologist addresses any health issues you might have that could affect your anesthesia, any allergies you might have to medications, if you have any breathing issues, etc... They'll ask a bunch of questions and answer any you might have. You should let them know if you are particularly nervous or have any issues that you think that they might need to know. They may tell you what to expect when they put you under and what to expect after surgery. They may go over pain management post op as well.

Congrats on getting this far along in the preop process.  The visit with the anes is no big deal.  He/She will look in your mouth, feel your neck and ask you some questions about previous surgery and your experience with anes.  It was a quick apt and painless.

Sorry, I'm a state employee not UHS, but if I remember correctly, my insurance approved me in about 2-3 days and then it was all down hill from there.

Good luck, you've chosen THE RIGHT surgeon!  I'm a little biased though!  Love Dr. C!!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say congratulations - you're so close to the losers bench. You'll be sitting pretty in no time.
