FINALLY approved!

I'm the NCer Shauna was talking about-- I started my WLS search about when she did, but I decided to have the duodenal switch .  Took me this long to get my insurance to approve, but I got my approval this week-- and at "in network benefits" for Dr. Dennis Smith in Atlanta, GA.

I spend most of my time over on the DS forum reading and asking questions, but I wanted to let you know I sometimes read the NC forum too.

How exciting on getting your approval and your date, you are 5 days before me.  Congrats and wishing you an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.

Nancy,  You know I'm thrilled for you!  Want to give you kudos for knowing what you want and sticking with it until you get it!  Huge CONGRATS again on your long-awaited approval..."in network," nonetheless!  We are so very lucky to live in a time where we are able to choose weight-loss surgery to regain our health and our lives.  "The best is yet to come!" 

Thanks Miss Shauna.  I feel real hope now, that I will do something I've never done before:  get to a normal weight for the first time in my adult life.

Congrats! I had no idea you're in NC. There are only a few of us DSers in NC that I know of. I've posted a few times asking for DSers and haven't found anyone.

Yes, there aren't many DSers in NC, but I bet that will change as time goes on.  There's another one near me in Black Mtn. (Gwyn) and one not too far away in TN.
