A little confused. Sorry about the questions..lol

Hi everyone. I have had surgeries before but I am kind of confused about something. Ok am I suppose to not eat or drink anything starting the day before surgery or at 12:00 am thursday. See I bet I confused everyone. Ok my surgery is on the 16th which is thursday. So when does the midnight thing start..lol

Can someone PLEASE help me understand this. Silly question I know but if I don't ask the questions then I will never know the answers right? Thanks in advance everyone!!

I think that they do not want you to eat anything solid the day before surgery at 12:00pm Wednesday. They want you to do clear broths and liquids to clear out the stomach. Then at 12:00 midnight you can't have anything to eat or drink. This is for the anesthesiology. It will make people sick if they have something to eat after midnight.

please call the nurse and make sure about this so that you clearly follow the correct dietary guidelines the day before.

Ok thats what I will do. I am going to call Dr. Mann's office tomorrow when I get back from the ENT consult I have. Thank you very much for helping me out!!!
