YAY 4 Dr. Phil

I am so tired of hearing people say that gastric bypass surgery is the "easy way out". That is total BS. So I was watching Dr. Phil a few minutes ago and FINALLY I heard someone say something positive about the surgery. Dr. Phil told a woman on the show who was thinking about having gastric bypass surgery that, a lot of people think that having ths surgery is a easy way out and it's not. Gastric bypass is NOT the easy way out. He also told her that it is a life altering change we well.
I can honestly say that me choosing to have gastric bypass was kind of hard on me but I know I have to do it.
I'm just glad that someone ( a celebrity mainly) can actually tell the truth and say that having the surgery is not the easy way out. GO DR.PHIL!!!!!!! lol

I saw that too and was very glad to hear Dr. Phil speak very honestly and candidly about the subject.  I was surprised to hear that he had been asked, when he was in private practice, to evaluate potential patients for the surgery.  I was glad he was honest with the woman about her not being mentally ready to deal with the big life change too.  I think many psych evaluators pass people through who probably aren't stable enough or aren't mentally ready to take on the big life commitment.
