1st Post since Surgery April the 3rd I have to vent
So, I work in the OR and get someone to check it for me and sure enough it said 3:15, I go to my pre ope it is still supposed to be at 3:15. I get everything together. So on the night of the 2nd I have a hard time sleeping, I started to call and talk to someone at work , to get them to check the time for me but I went back to sleep. At 5:30 am I get a call from PRE OPE asking if I am coming in for my surgery, " Yes , I said" " Well what time are you coming". I knew this was not a reminder call at this hour. " Well , I was told to be there at 1:15" They had me down for 7:15 am. SO my BP went through the roof at this point. The office had changed the time, and did not call to tell me . This is only the 4th change. SO, I drove myself to the hospital, My daughter was going to go with me but had college, so she comes to the hospital after class. The hospital said it was all the offices fault, they changed it.All the office could tell me it was their fault and they were sorry. It was not my place to check behind this office. I am still mad about it. I let everyone at work know about it before surgery. I was very pissed.
I spent Friday night at the hospital, Sat was an OK day and I came home. Sunday sucked, I felt bad all day. The pain in my shoulders from the gas hurt more than anything. They are still sore. I am up doing more today and sipping as much as possible. Thanks for listening.
Hi Hope,
I'm so sorry to hear that you had such an ordeal getting to surgery, but I'm delighted to hear that you have come through it well. My husband had his surgery in December and experienced the incredible referred gas pain that you are dealing with. The good news is that it will get better.
Wishing you a smooth and gentle recovery,

What pratice to you go to?? I had a similar experience and had to stay on top of them..I would call the office and the insurance company everyday.. You have to be proactive because they don't care, you are another number. I found out that my surgery was a lot faster than others, only because I pestered them. I called constantly. Now, my sister wants surgery and I am so happy for her, but she called Friday and they said the first available seminar was November. She called me and was so upset and said by then I'll be over it. So, I called my surgeons nurse and he called the people over the seminar and she will probably get in the May seminar...You just have to be persistent. Good Luck!!

I am so sorry about your ordeal with your doctor. When I began my research into a doctor, I started with Dr. Nong, but he was just starting his practice and it made me a bit nervous. I was then told about a few others including Dr. Encochs. I heard to not go to him that his practice was falling apart and from what you said sounds to be true. I went with Dr. Moran. This man knows his stuff. Now his bed side manner is nothing like what people said. They said he was cold and not persaonable. I found him to be very nice, to the point and KNOWLEDGABLE. I told people I didn't care if my doctor was huggable, I wanted him to be on top of things and be able to do the surgery in his sleep. I am so glad I chose Dr. Moran. My surgery is one week from today at Rex. My insurance just approved everythign this morning!!
