1/2 the woman I once was

I realized yesterday that I am now 1/2 the woman I once was. I am not completely sure what my highest weight was because I had been trying to "cut back" before I ever went to the doctor. Anyways on my 1st visit to the doctor in late  Sept 2007 I weighed in at 429. I now am fluctuating between 210 and 215. At 214.5 I was exactly 1/2. That amazes me. What also amazes me is seeing myself in pictures. I  have a hard time believing it is me. Thanks too all the support I have recieved on OH. I am sure I would have given up along time ago without it.

Thanks Beth! I knew I was getting close but had forgotten how close I was to being at the 1/2 way mark.

Congratulations on such a signfificant accomplishment. Isn't it astounding to realize that you are now carring half the weight you used to carry? I wish you continued success as you learn to maintain the incredible losses and associated gains you've realized as you have lost all of that weight and found the new you.

All the best,

Barbara

Thanks Barb. Yes it is amazing. I can't imagine me picking up 214 lbs and walking around. It seems as only yesterday I was struggling to walk and breath at the same time. I am really happy I had this surgery even though somedays I want a doughnut or Dr.Pepper.

The next time you want a donut or a Dr. Pepper, go the the grocery store and get a cart. Start loading bags of dog food until you get there... Take a photo. Another way to do it to load up your grocery cary with potatoes, but it takes more bags ;-)... Either way, it will amaze you to actually see 'how much' you used to carry around.

Wishing you continued success,

Hi Melissa,
I had no idea what your starting weight was.
You look great and dont even look the same you look like you have been thin your whole life.
Yesterday I was moving my free weights to my workout room and noticed how heavy 28lbs was just moving them.
I thought if  28lbs feels like this how in the world did I manage to carry around 680lbs.

Thanks Annie. I completely understand what you mean about the weights. I have no idea how I ever carried around another 214 lbs. I read somewhere that for every lb you lose you remove 4 lbs of pressure from your knees too. Just imagine what our knees were going through. I guess that's why mine don't bother me as much anymore. They can relax now that they have 850 some odd less lbs of pressure on them.
