Check those BMI's
Hi Iris,
You are so right that there a number of ways to measure our journey. I've used the tape measure, scale and BMI calculation. You'll notice that I post my BMI on my signature line. At my highest weight, my BMI was 42.6, but when I orginally met with Duke to look into this journey, I was down to 40.2 and during my six month documented diet attempt, I took it down to 37.6 by the time I went in for surgery. Today I'm sitting at 143 lbs with a BMI of 23.1, so I'm right in the middle of what is considered a 'normal' BMI for a woman of my hieght (5'6").
Congratulations on the significant successes you have achieved.

Finally catching up with everything and wanted to chime in... The day I started my journey my BMI was 61 @ 425 lbs, the day of WLS it was 56.7 @ 395 lbs. Now, 6 1/2 years later... my BMI is 27.5 and I still want to loose the 25lbs I put on this past couple years. I'm happy as a lark!
Have a great weekend!!
