My surgery is delayed

I sat here and starved on water and jello for nothing.  I got only 4 hours of sleep last night for nothing.  I went in at 6:15 this morning to check in, gave them my ID and the woman looks on the computer and looks through her folders...next thing she is on the phone telling someone "I need someone up here, now".  I don't know what she thought would happen that she needed backup LOL.  Anyhow, she then proceeds to inform me that I was not put to a later time but that someone didn't make calls last night and my surgeon was not there because of some emergency.  She then proceeds to tell me I need to talk to the general surgery nurse and that they open at 7:30.  UGH!  We fought up until last night to make sure DH could be there today, I did everything I was supposed to, and they couldn't make a stupid call last night.

I am guessing whatever her emergency is, it is keeping her out all week because our bariatric nurse called me this afternoon to let me know we couldn't reschedule for tomorrow like she hoped, but  that it has to instead be what she called the worst case scenario which is next Tuesday.  I am greatly aggravated by the way the PAU didn't call last night, but I was so hungry that I was just glad to go back to my high protein diet LOL.  I guess I now have another week to lose more weight and have until this weekend to figure out how to make some home made soup or the such that I can eat the broth of while on clears again Sunday and Monday.

I'm so sorry for your disappointment, but I'm glad that everything is okay. I'm also glad that through your disappointment, you can see that the glass is still half full, just think, you can tick a few more pounds off. You are already on your way!

Saprina,  I don't take news like that very well at all so if you had a semi-nervous breakdown over it, I, of all people, would completely understand!  If you are taking it as well as you sound you are, then that is great because getting too bent out of shape isn't going to change anything, right?  (Can you tell I've gotten that pep talk many times before?!  lol)  I do love your positive outlook and am hoping this one last week will fly by for you.  We'll keep your spot on the bench warm for you!  {{{Hugs!!!}}}

Dog gone it!! So sorry to hear that. I can imagine how frustrating this must be for you.
Glad to see you're thinking positive now though. You just hang in there. It will happen.

Thanks so much everyone.  I am still aggravated that they didn't do their job and call, but no breakdowns LOL.  Actually, I have taken it better than I would have thought I could.  I was prepared for the normal stuff of being bumped later if a soldier needed an emergency operation or anything, but hadn't quite thought about being prepared for such a thing as this.  I am actually happy to have some more time to eat high protein/low carb, time to finish planting my flower beds, time to try and figure out what is wrong with my laptop LOL.  Now I just have to get the weather to cooperate for me to do the things outside I want to do!
Oh, good news...as of this morning I have lost about 24 pounds since I began the bariatric program 6 months ago :-D

For different reasons I went through the same thing. I had to wait another 7 weeks to get back on my surgeon's schedule. But eventually I got there and all has gone well since. It will for you too. I know how frustrating that this is for you for sure.

It just stinks!! but you have to think it wasn't meant to happen today. Make the most of your week. You will be on the other side of surgery this time next week!
