Protein Question
Hi everyone. Now that I know and hope that my surgery will be soon, I am looking to try some good protein shakes. I know that after I have gastric bypass surgery my taste buds will probably change but I want to at least try some now to see which ones I will like. Does anyone know of any samples I could get or if anyone has any that they don't want anymore, I would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know about it. Oh and since I don't own a credit card or anything, is there any sites I can go to that sends out free samples where you don't have to use a credit card? Sorry if this sounds confusing but I am trying to NOT sound like I am asking for help..lol Anyways, if anyone has any favorites can ya let me know what they are and where I can get them from. Thanks everyone in advance. Take care!!

Emelinda,
Vitalady does do protien supplement samples. You have to buy them though. You might could go to walmart and get one of those credit cards that you prepay for and buy things online that way. I think there is a charge for the credit card but a lot of times places like Walgreens, Rite aid offer the card for free.
The vitalady samples are usually around 1.99/sample.

If you email the syntrax company (www.si03.com) and tell them you are a bariatric patient they will send you several samples free. I ordered my protein powder from this company - chocolate truffle - very good!!!
I'm sorry...they must have started receiving too many requests. In my sample packet I received a couple of fruity drinks (a fuzzy navel - yuck - and strawberry kiwi which I didn't try). There was a latte one which was okay - probably better made with milk than water - and a cookies and cream - again okay but not crazy over drinking the chunks of cookie. The chocolate truffle was really good.
I know Unjury had a sample set you can buy too.
Good luck with your search!!!

Emelinda, I'm so glad to hear that your surgery plan is progressing for you! If you email me your mailing address, I can send you a scoop of each powder that I have in a baggie with the description of what it is. I took Mica (purplepresident) a gift bag filled with 10 samples when I visited her in the hospital. I think I have a scoop of at least 7 or 8 flavors left, including the unflavored Unjury. I even have a canister of the vanilla that Wal-Mart sells, then the rest I bought at GNC. Anyway! I would be glad to do that for you if you send me your addie. {{{Hugs!!!}}}
Emelinda - I think you're wise to do this legwork before surgery to at least get a feel (or taste) of the many different proteins, because there are so many out there and none of them are cheap. Shauna had a great idea, and I'll send you a scoop of the three different proteins that I currently use too. Two are by Dessert Protein - banana nut and vanilla. The third is a much cheaper one that I bought from Wal-Mart in a chocolate flavor. All three of these taste very good to me. The chocolate isn't really very sweet, so the next time I use it I may add a teaspoon or two of the Nestle chocolate milk mix (sugar free of course) to it. I read on here where someone else recommended that and it sounds like it will help make it sweeter and more chocolatey. Good luck on your upcoming surgery and send me your address so that I can send you my 3 samples!
Take care,
