Yesterday's WOW

The weather here was absolutely beautiful yesterday afternoon. All I could think about at work was going home and riding my bike. Just being outside sounded wonderful to me. David called on the way home and said he was going sailing before the weather changed.

I got home to find my bike had a flat tire. Since David was sailing I decided to go walk in his neighborhood and maybe I could get a few good pictures of him sailing. His neighborhood backs up to a county park with boat ramp and really nice walking paths. So I reset my pedometer and away I went.

Not only did I walk his neighborhood (and get some decent pictures) but I crossed over to the park and walked. And walked. And walked. And walked somemore. I noticed the clouds starting to roll in about sunset so I headed back to his house - in high gear. The weather shift caught me - dang did it get cold and windy -FAST!!! When I got back tot he house I checked my pedometer......3 miles in just over 45 minutes. I wasn't tired. I wasn't out of breath (not that I miss gasping for air like a fish outta water). I didn't hurt. There was no stinging/burning sensation in my calves. OMG!!! I actually passed people on the walking path.

This is what it feels like to be healthy and enjoy exercise. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Iris!  I am a new member to the forum.  I am hoping to have my surgery in May and one of the goals I have set is to walk in the Race for the Cure in June of 2010.  You have given me real hope that this will happen!
