Time flies after surgery
This time two years ago today I was getting ready to leave for the hospital and the start of my new life. And what a new life it is! I would do this over again and alot sooner if I had only known.
Although I only get to "lurk" on the weekends, I am truely greatful for all that everyone here on the forum shares. It seems that each time I visit I find that someone has posted a topic that I needed to hear. Each one of you are so very dear to me and I thank you for coming and sharing. I love my OH family and my only regret is that I could visit nor participate more often.
During the last two years I have been able to do so much more that "normal" people just take for granted. Such as:
I no longer have to look for a chair that is sturdy and has no arms.
I can sit in all booths at a restaurant.
I no longer have to use a seat belt extender when flying and actually have lots of extra.
I love crossing my legs.
I no longer have to use the handicap bathroom stalls.
I smile alot more now because I have alot less pain everywhere.
I now go up and down the stairs at work several times a day and enjoy the exercise. Two years ago I would climb the stairs to my desk and everyone would come to me until I left for the day.
I could go on forever, but I think everyone here already knows what a great gift I have received.
Thank you everyone for being a part of my journey in life.
