fear time may run out

I work in public health. Honestly I don't know if is county or state plan. We are considered local government. I know it is highly probable that changes may be made to the plan re: wls as means to reduce cost. It is an elective procedure. I hope I get a surg date and approval before that happens if it happens. Maybe I'm just paranoid.... LOL

I am also on the State Health Plan.  I have been following possible changes fairly closely and haven't seen anything about possible exclusions for WLS. I wouldn't worry about it right now.

Where can you get that information? I don't see anything on the website for bcbs. I am just going on talk. I also got my appt for Endo and US of abdomen and its on 4/2. So my last pre op appt is may 11. Once I get clearances from all disciplines they will try and get an approval. How long did it take you to get an approval out of state plan? Things seem to be moving fairly quickly, and I am glad.

My approval took about 1 day.  I got my approval letter from the SHP the day after my "decision appointment".  The information I am hearing regarding the SHP is primarily from the SEANC.org website.  Good luck to you.
