Xpost: What a difference!
One of the duties I have in my job is the instruction of new employess in a yearly "basic" school. Last year, I was on my blog being all sad because a few of the students in my class had rated me "below average" on the "appearance" section of our student evaluation forms. The forms are confidential and have no names so they can be brutal. I went on and on about how I hard ironed my shirt, pressed the pants, etc...
Fast forward to this year: I am in the middle of this years' series of classes. I am looking through the first set of student evaluations from the first session of classes. The first group I had was largely female (which is unusal, but NICE). ALL of the evaluations rated me either "average" or "above average" (the highest possible) on appearance this year. There was even one who stated the following on her (well, I HOPE it was a her! LOL) form:
Jason is an excellent instructor who keeps the attention of the class from the very beginning until the very end of the block. He is obviously well versed on his topic but still allows for comments from the group. I very much enjoyed his course and look forward to further training by him in the future.
P.S. He's also very handsome!
Wow, what a difference a year makes!

Congratulations!!! Not just on the lovely comment, but on how it makes you feel. I really do understand. It's too bad, but true that others really do judge us on our appearance. You are the same man, doing the same job, but their perception of you is different... And you were always handsome;-)
Here's to many more positive comments!
