I am home and on the mend
Hello everyone! Thank you all for the well wishes and good thoughts.
I am going to post when I am feeling a little better about the whole experience. It was definately not as easy as I thought it would be. That is for sure. I spent two days in recovery and that did not help the situation. I am sooooo happy to be home, and I have definately improved since then.
Dr. Chapman was a little worried about my heart rate the morning he was going to release me but ended up doing so anyway. I was a little nervous about that, but I am so glad that he let me come home! I think that made a difference in my recovery. I could not rest at all in the hospital.
I have had a major problem with nausea since I awoke from the surgery. I always do after being put under. For some reason we have just had a harder time getting it under control this time. I have had a real hard time keeping anything down including the shakes. I had to call the Dr. today too because I still have not had a bowel movement. I do not understand how you are suposed to when you are not getting anything down???
I know this is just the beginning to a new me. I am looking forward to getting past this hump and on to the rest of my journey! I will try and touch base with you all later!
Thank you to my Angel... Sheryl! Hugs and Kisses!
Best wishes during your recovery.

First, it was great meeting you the other day, and thanks again! You guys rock!
Now down to business, if you need ANYTHING, just give me a buzz. It is no problem. I mean it! If you end up having a tough time with the shakes, try the clear protein liquids. I had to because I don't like the thicker drinks. Get lots of rest and be gentle to yourself, don't try to be superwoman, lol. Relax and take advantage of the time off.
Love ya, Nancy
Glad you are home and on the mend...Sorry to hear about the complications. That nausea can be terrible. I always have a lot of nausea after surgery too. I just had my nutritionist appointment today, so I hopefully wont be long behind you. I hope you continue to get better each day. If there is anything I can do let me know....Amy
Thanks everyone! I am definately better today. I have not had to take the zofran at all and I only took pain meds once today. I have also been up and on the go all day long.
My mom is leaving tomorow. I wish that she could stay longer. For all of you who have called I have not been ignoring you... I will start returning calls tomorow.
Clear protein liquids???????????????? Please tell me more. I would give literally anything to not have to drink those shakes. That is what makes me literally gag at this point. I choke them down but it is really rough!
Isopure is clear liquid, 0 Carb high protein. There are several fruit flavors. Vitamin Shoppe and GNC carry it in liquid and powder. Vitamine Shoppe was cheaper.
How are you doing?
I had my surgery 3/17. I am feeling better daily, and I hope you are as well.
I like the EAS protein drinks as well. They are not too sweet or too thick.
Keep me posted on your progres, and I'll do the same.
Take Care,
Vini
