I got hit on for the first time since WLS!!!
DD and I were shopping at Costco, and they were giving out samples. Maybe my punishment for going to the sample table for cream puffs....(they were tiny bites)...but when I went for one, this large, mannish woman, said in a thick accent...."Do you speak Russian?" WTH? I said, "NO'....then she said "I like big Russian women"....OMG! As I tried to make a hasty retreat, she said, "I like that dress, Where you get it?"....I mumbled something about Belk's and got the heck out of there....and when I got home, put the dress in the Goodwill pile!
Great. I finally think I'm looking pretty normal, and I get hit on by a Russian lesbian who likes "big Russian women"....my ego is circling the drain right now...UGH! I feel fat and unattractive, and wonder if I'm ever gonna get smaller than a size 14. Everybody else I know is an 8 or a 10, and with only 4 months to go till my one year surgiversary...I'm worried I will be the only one who doesn't get "skinny". I guess I need a kick in the pants to get myself working extra hard at it again....but even the lure of a 1/2 creampuff was too much to handle.
It's ok to laugh...I've been telling this story at work and everybody cracks up, especially when I do my russian accent.....just my luck, I tell ya!
Hey Lisa...you had me cracking up! I am 53 and had a man in his 70'**** on me at Food Lion one day and want to take me to dinner. The old geezer was old enuf to be my father! But just take it for what it is and move on. I have lost 124 lbs and am in a 16/18, depending on the cut and know eventually, i will get down. It may not be as fast as i would like but with spring and summer coming, exercise will be much easier. Keep you chin up!
Love, Pam

OMG! I'm struggling today and your post made me smile. When I first saw it, I was going to tell you congratulations, because I have yet to get 'hit on.'
Please know that while the 'honeymoon' period is generally about a year, I continued to lose until 15 months and that is not uncommon. I think that you'll make it to a 10, you've got time... maybe she was a 'Russian Fat Fairy' sent to help you refocus as you reached for the cream puff.
Wising you continued success,
Barbara

I can totally relate to how you're feeling as far as the "size" thing goes too! I am currently wearing a loose-fitting 12, and can fit SOME 10's if they're cut on the large side. Everyone I know is wearing 4's and 6's and many are the SAME weight that I'm at right now (and the same height.) I just beat myself up and wonder how in the heck there can be such vast differences in sizes and have even told a couple of friends that I want to know where they're buying their 6's. LOL!!! Now for the reality check...what size were you wearing the day before your surgery? Just remember...everyone's body is different. We all carry our weight differently...even when we're seemingly the same weight. I STILL come home and pull out the one pair of pants I kept after my surgery (a size 24!) and I literally fit into one leg of those pants now.
If you're wearing a size 14, you are absolutely NOT fat in any way, shape or form. Just remember how far you've come! Don't beat yourself up over eating 1/2 a creampuff either! 1/2 a creampuff isn't what made you fat...it's 1/2 a creampuff x 10 or 20!
Just think...you've lost nearly 100 lbs!! Be proud of that girlfriend! I know it's hard, but don't compare sizes...it's just way too frustrating. LOL!!
Thank you for sharing that story!
