Hair Loss

I'm sure all these questions have been asked a million times, but i never thought to read them because i just *knew* i was going to be different... lol

3 questions about hair loss.... mine started this past month and it is FREAKING ME OUT!

1) does it stop? do i need to be doing anythign in particular to make sure it does?
2) will it grow back?
3) is biotin the best to take? where can i find it the cheapest?

Hey girl, join the club mine has been falling out for the last couple of months and I've used special shampoo and  biotin and it hasn't stopped it.
How are you doing now with the eating and how much have you lost?

well, i hadn't posted about it here, but i had to go back last week for *another* EGD to stretch out the stricture. it had shrunk back down to about 2mm and they brought it out to 10mm. so i am eating well....ish. they told me to be completely ready for it to possible shrink again and have to come in a 3rd time. (so weird how doctors are differnt. didnt you say your doctor wouldnt re-stretch you?) had a couple episodes that last weekend, but suddenly my body doesn't think it's starving anymore so it's letting go of some pounds. as of this morning i'm 213, down from 333.... 120!!!!!!

how's your stricture issue? are you still losing well?

Sorry to hear your still having trouble and I felt for you. Yes I've had 3 EGD's and they only stretched me the first time, but I'm doing better with eating I think. I still can't really eat much meat. I'm down 70 lbs and yes still losing but it's alot slower like 3-5 lbs a month. Congrats on the weight loss!

Your question and feelings are totally normal...

1. YES it will stop!! LOL I know it is freaky to see it all come out.

2. YES it will grow back! my stylist always made comments on the new growth

3. I bought Biotin and it didnt really do much.

Hi Karla,
I too thought it would not happen to me either LOL boy was I wrong.
My hair started falling out around the 4th month out.
I do take biotin 5000mcg and did notice hair regrowth and my nails started growing more than usual.
Keep in mind that with natural supplements it takes about 3-6 weeks to see any change.
My hair is growing back and in fact better and fuller.
Dealing with hair loss versus morbid obesity there is not question for me I would rather be bald than SMO

I had my surgery on 8/1/08...the hair loss started at month three and was horrible until month 6...it's still falling out, but at least I can't make a wig with the hair on  my bathroom floor anymore...nor we having to call roto rooter to come out and unclog our drains!  I've never taken biotin or used shampoos...Heard it never really did anything to help so I thought I would save my  money toward plastic surgery some day...LOL

Funny thing about hair loss...mine started BEFORE I had surgery.  I now have a shiny bald spot on the back of my head with no end in sight!  LOL    Any help for me???
