Hi everyone. Well to day I went to see Dr. Mann for my surgeon visit. I was so scared, nervous and happy all at the same time.lol. Anyways, things went a lot better then I thought. First off I want to say that he is really really nice. I really do like him a lot. When we started talking he kept asking me do you have any questions. I knew that he actually cared by the way he was talking. So, he told me all the risks and potential complications that could happen. He also told me that he is going to try to do the surgery laproscopically :) but if he has to change over to open then I will still be ok. He said for me not to worry about that though..lol..I guess he could tell that I was nervous. He explained everything to me about the diet after the surgery and how long the surgery would be. He also kept talking about exercise. A friend of mine on here told me he would really emphasize (I hope I spelled that right) about me exercising after surgery. I told him that I understood what he was saying and I would do everything he told me to do. So, honestly I was waiting for him to say, you have to lose weight before I will do the surgery. I was absolutely terrified he was going to say that. But thank you lord he didn't say that. He did say that if I lost some weight before I had the surgery that it would make things easier on him and me as well. So what I am gonna do is start exercising and watching what I eat. I am very very determined to do everything in my power to lose some weight before surgery and I am going to make him proud. As well as myself proud. I have never wanted anything more in my life then this surgery. I need this surgery because if I don't I know in my heart that this weight is going to kill me and I am not ready to leave my husband and kids. I want to get healthy and be able to play with my kids the way I want and be able to just walk down the street without having to stop to catch my breath. So, now it is just the waiting game. Dr. Mann said that they will submit my paperwork to the insurance company. You know, the most happiest part of the whole visit was when he shook my hand and then looked at me and said, I will see you the day of the surgery. OMGoodness, I have wanted to hear a surgeon say those words for the past going on 3 years and FINALLY it happened. You guys, I am so happy right now. I have finally made it!!!!!

Good for you for sticking to your guns.
I am very proud that you have made this choice to improve your life.
WLS is a very personal choice and there are many different ones out there.
With your dedication and determination you will achieve your personal goals.
You might want to check out some sites that you can get used to recording your food intake.
I make this a habit 5 days a wek and it helps me to be accountable to myself.

Congrats on everything going well and I wish you all the luck. Hopefully, I will not be too far behind you (using the same surgical group). You know, just have to get these pre-op apts done first.
