Hello friends,

I haven't been around for the past few days.  My DH has been having some serious heart rhythm problems over the past year and on Thursday last week he had more episodes of VT (ventricular tachycardia).  He ended up here in the Emergency Department around 2:00, he was quickly put into a room and our wonderful docs and nurses here at PCMH ED got him started on the meds needed to get him back into normal rhythm.  Let me tell you.... it was very scary there for a while.  He started to panic during one of the longest runs of the VT and couldn't get his breath.  Once he got straightened out, he was transferred to the new heart center.  That is one NICE place...  So, Dr. De Antonio, the electrophysiologist that he has been seeing for many years ordered some tests and on Monday took him to the EP lab hoping to reproduce the VT and do ablation to fix the problem.  Unfortunately, Ronnie's heart didn't want to act up again (it's like taking your car to the shop and it won't mess up then).  The doc gave him 2 options:  get a pacemaker or try another drug so Ronnie decided to go the medication route for now.  They started it on Monday and have been monitoring him since then and hopefully he will go home today.

I know many of you have sent me messages about the meetup in Greenville on April 4th.  I have seen them and will get a head count together soon.

Well, I best get to work....  hopefully I'll be leaving early today to take my sweetie home!

Glad to hear your hubby is doing better.  It must be the full moon--my cousin (male) in SC went through the same thing Friday.  He is in his 60's and opted for the pacemaker.  His monitor showed that along with the V-tach his heart was stopping for as long as 6 seconds.  It scared us all silly.   Hospitals are wonderful when you need them.   Glad you hubby has had excellent care.

I'm so glad your hubby is stabalized.  I hope the meds do the trick.  If not, at least he has another option.

I'll keep you both in my prayers.

I am so glad things are going better for you! I worked as a CCU nurse for several years and I know how scary it can be, but he is in a great place. I have seen the meds work and some got pacemakers. My father-in-law opted for PM and has done beautiful> If you ever need to talk I am here!
