Thought i was doing GREAT

 Well i thought i was doing great, loosing the weight feeling awesome besides this darn flu that came back around to me. 
So today I had a check up with the OB on base, the had put implanon in my upper left arm.
If your a wear of what Implanon is it is kind of like the nor implant but only has on little stick instead of like 6 (three in each arm). So i was a bit burised, and tender still. I've had it about a month, so the doctor said "didn't you have gastric bypass?" I happily said oh yeah i did.. i'm doing good too. 
She was like umm i saw you in Jan and you've only lost 45 pounds. If that is all you wanted to loose you could have saved us all money and did a diet that your going to fail at.. 
My mouth dropped open, and i could feel the tears come up in my eyes, i started my journey last July at 265, i had lost down to 240 the day of surgery, and now down to 200 pounds, and this woman who doesn't even know my struggles want to throw me under the bus saying i've already failed in the first two months because i haven't lost enough weight. i'm just shocked.. Then she said oh yeah you still have a bruise, then walked out. Is that what the appointment was for? for her to tell me all this make me feel horrible and then just be like nice you bruised. 
WTF is all i have to say.. grrr..
in the back of my mind i think i'm doing great to be two months out TODAY, anyway i hope Dr.Mac is happy with me tomorrow, i get to see him.. I'm sure he'll be pleased.. 

Dr. Mac will be tickled with you. I'm sorry you had to deal with a "stupid cow" like that today. You are doing great - don't let people like her get you down. How many other patients has she seen lose 45 lbs in 2 months?  Makes you wonder where her head was at... ARGHHHHH....The more I think about it the madder I get.

I'm going to go stew on it for a little while. Hope the rest of your day is wonderful - you deserve it.

Hon, that was absolutely terrible.  She should not have said that to you and I would never go back to see her again.  I would consider telling Dr. Mac about it as well.  He will at least be able to give you proper feedback regarding her obvious insult.  I am absolutely outraged that anyone would say something like that to you, 45 pounds in 3 months is incredible.  You started out at a lighter weight  than some, so you aren't going to lose as fast as someone that weighed much more.  It's just awful.  Dr mac will be happy, I promise.

Tell her to kiss your ass! She don't know squat about this surgery, and your complications. UGH! Just ignore her!

 Thanks ladies, i knew if anyone could make me see the happier side of things it's my OH buddies.. 
I now have blew her off, the strange thing is, after i got done with that appointment instead of eating my feelings like i used, i went to the gym and ran like a mad woman on the treadmill, 45 pounds gone, more to go is how i look at it. I knew my weight loss was going to be much slower then some, but I'm proud of me taking the big leap of WLS...So to hell with her, i'm doing great in my mind.. 
Thanks again... i just needed to vent and get it all out, so that way at midnight tonight i wouldn't still be bothered by her comment..

What ever the chain of command is there.... SHE NEEDS TO BE REPORTED!!!   That is unforgivable!!!  I had my surgery in Jan as well and am only down 26, very proud of that!!  Imagine what she would have said to me.  I seriously would report her to whomever will listen!!!   Keep up the good work and don't let ignorant people get you down! 

Any weight loss of more than 2 pounds a week is phenomenal! You have lost about 5 pounds a week! That person is totally off base and should be reported or at least educated about what real weight loss is about. I am nearly 6 months out and I have averaged about 12 - 15 pounds a month. I am happy about that and you should be delighted with your results so far. You are definitely not a failure.

That's so horrible!  I'm sure I would have been devasted too.  It makes me so mad when I hear people acting like that.  If I were in your shoes I would make another appointment to meet this person in their office so you can tell the a$$hole exactly what you think of her and her comment.  Then educate her on the expectations of WLS as well as how to appropriately communicate with patients.  Then I'd file a formal complaint against her.  I sure would do it!!

Don't let one old sour puss who clearly needs a lesson in manner 101 bother you .  It is not her place to decide who needs to spend what money and clearly you didn't spend her so there.  Now as for your weight loss I think your doing good and to put in into prospective 45 pounds is a small child . Way to go on your loss.

First of all you have to realize that the stupid ***** said that because SHE wishes she could lose that much weight in that short of time. I wish I would of been there with you because I would of ripped her a new ass! Who the F**** does she think she is talking to you like that? Saved *us* all money? LMAO what a dumb *****! I would of told her that she could of saved US money and let someone else go to medical school that actually CARED about the patients! You need to call the base and find out WHO is her supervisor. This idiot is NOT a Bariatric Doctor and obviousely is a total ignorant, uneducated warthog. Dr. Macdonald will be THRILLED THRILLED at your progress. Do not let this fleabag get you down!! You are doing great!!!! (SORRY FOR ALL THE CUSSING LOL, I get really mad when I hear people doing this to people who have had WLS) Make sure you complain, I am sure she talks to everyone like this and gets away with it. Remember you are the Princess... she is the Seahag LOLOLOL
