...and I am super nervous! Don't get me wrong, I'm also VERY happy and excited...I have been dreaming of this surgery for years and I can't believe that it's finally here! I only finished my 6 month diet and exercise plan for insurance this past Monday (2/23), was approved 2 days later and today my surgery was scheduled! I go for pre-op tomorrow, and I'm still a little in shock....I thought this day would never get here and now that it is I can't believe it's happening so fast! I'm probably not even making any sense, my thoughts are scattered all over the place! I would love some words of encouragement, advice....anything!

You are experiencing something that all of us experienced right before surgery.  The closer it gets the more anxious you'll get.  Just relax.....  You'll be in my prayers as you get ready and have surgery.

Have confidence in your decision and the Dr.  I am confident that you will have great success with the surgery.  Just follow the plan and you should have good sucess.

It is soooo normal to be nervous. You are making a huge lifechange, but it's a change for the better.

I noticed that you are in Apex. We have a general support group meeting that gets together on the 3rd Saturday of the month and you are most welcome to join us. You can get the information about the meetings at www.meetup.com/nc-wls

I look forward to getting to know you as you make this lifechanging journey.

Thank you all! I just got back from my pre-op and am very anxious for Monday to get here! I'm trying to calm myself and stay focused on why I'm doing this--the fact that I'm on more medication that my 80 year old grandfather, the fact that I want to be able to play with my daughter and no****ch from the sidelines, and so many more reasons that are just too much to list. Thinking of the reasons why I'm doing this makes me feel better about the whole thing. I'm just ready to get it over and done with :).

Barbara--I'm actually a part of that group already but haven't been to any of the meetings YET. I definitely will once I have my surgery and feel up to it.

Thanks again guys! Your words mean more to me than yall can ever imagine!

Hi there, I had my RNY with Dr. Enoch on Feb. 9th!!! I'm only a month ahead of you so i'd love to keep in touch. Nerves are normal but Rex is a very warm and welcoming place, the nurses were great. PM me if you have any other questions. Keep positive thoughts and keep up with the posts/boards.  They are a great resource. Dr. Enoch and his staff have been very supportive and easy to talk to.
