United Healthcare Switch - help?
Hi all - I'm relatively new to this board, but I'm glad I found it :)
After much study, I've decided that the surgery for me is VSG - Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. I do not want the band for various reasons, mostly because I have a sensitivity to silicone and other polymers, and even if it's medical grade, I would be more likely to experience erosion. I was seriously thinking about the Duodenal Switch, but I feel that is too intrusive for my needs. Vertical Sleeve is just the one that I feel a "peace" about getting. It fits me.
So, have any of you North Carolinians who have gotten VSG had any luck with United Healthcare? I'm prepared to have to appeal, but any information you could give me I'd really appreciate! My surgeon will most likely be Dr. Enochs.
