Anybody want to compare Monday's

I can't be a taker on those marvelous sounding young men as I have gotten used to having my youngest two DD's living with me and DH for the last couple of years. We thought we had ditched all the kids when we left Oregon but alas the two youngest followed us out here within 8 months LOL!. They are 22 and 24 years old and one has launched her career as a police officer and the other will soon be building jet planes for HondaJet here in Greensboro.  However they are still living here at home and I just can't make enough room for two boys (uh I mean young men). Besides you would want them back in a couple of weeks and what if I grow attached to them? Or what if the DD's grow attached to them or the other way around? So many possibilities.
Today started out pretty peachy as I was not scheduled to be at wor****il 9 am. SO I did get to sleep in. However I knew I would have to leave extra early to get there because of the snow and ice situation. I did make it to work with no incidence thankfully but that's when the fun began. First of all the owners were there of course because they have to get there no matter what but the early shift employee was a no show which I can understand with the icy conditions and all. As soon as I got into the play yard and immediately hit the deck hard. Turned out I was knocked down by or delightful camper named Carson. She is a great Dane puppy and is already over a hundred pounds. Both of my knees are bruised but more than that my ego took a tumble. I am okay and I think I have my dignity back. Carson does go home tomorrow. She is very sweet but just doesn't know her size. I think I have shifted my center of gravity and haven't figured how to stay balanced yet. By the time my shift ended an hour later than scheduled we realized that the other employees weren't going to make it in for whatever reason. The thing is the roads were fine when I drove home and all clear. So now I am getting up at 5am and showing up for first shift in addition to my scheduled shift tomorrow morning because we don't know if the first shift person will be able to make it. The roads may again be treacherous or worse tomorrow morning but I will go in.
About the middle of my shift the owners brought in pizza. It was a yummy thin crust pineapple and ham pizza which is my fave. She sent me out of the play yard to go get some and what did I do? I ate a small slice way too fast. Needless to say my tummy was sounding alarms for the next hour. I managed to get through it in the yard with the doggies. I did spend the worst of it hugging Muggles a little terrier mix that loves to jump up in my lap whenever I sit down. I also massaged the others one by one as they wanted it until my tummy was fine again. The power of hugging and petting dogs is unbelievable. Even a bad day at camp is better than a good day in a call center. Enough of this I hope all of us have a better Tuesday.

Reading your post makes me happy that I can't have kids! I would have killed him! I have a 17 year old stepson and can't wait for him to go! If my husband would "cut the cord" and force him to grow up and accept some responsibilty I guess it wouldn't be as bad, but I don't see that happening anytime soon!
Happy Tuesday?

Tuesday is much better. Actually Monday ended very well - just started out really, really rough.

I have been standing at the verge of an empty nest come August when both sons leave for college. Well I've screwed that one up. My boyfriend has 2 kids - a 9 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. He has them every other weekend but still - it's like feathering my nest all over again.

Oh well - I know what to expect this time around.

You are a glutton for punishment aren't you? I bet those kids will be glad to have one of the world's best stepmoms.
