Reese's cups

I normally give great thought to any and all foods before eating them.
The other night I ate two small Reeses cups out of the bag of candy I gave Lee for his birthday/Valentines.
Keep in mind the bag has sat on his desk since Feb 14th I never gave it much thought.
The Reeses monster got me but unfortunatly nothing happend after having the Reeses cups no dumping no feeling like I was going to die, nothing.
On the good side of things I admit I ate two cups and I do not have that haunting urge to have more.
The bag sits less then 5 feet from my computer desk and it is not calling to me.
In fact they still taste as great as I remembered they did but OMG soooo sweet  do not like things that are too sweet even SF creamer I dont like any more.

I am feeling much better the past two days since loosing Rosie.
I miss her terribly but in my heart I know I did all I could and it was her time.

Hi Melissa,
I am hoping for the first time in my life I might be free from my sweet addiction that got me to have wls.
One more reason why wls has been a blessing for me.
As for those Girl Scout cookies they came buy my house wanting to sell me some I thanked the girl and the parent and just said I cant eat them because of surgery.

Talking about Girl Scout cookies...I had to distribute them last week but I left them in my classroom just so I wouldn't have them in my house.

How long was it before you tried something sweet just to see if you could tolerate it?  I had school cafeteria chicken salad yesterday and didn't think about it having the sweet pickles in it until I started eating it.  It didn't bother me.  Wondering if that's enough to tell or not.  My husband sat beside me tonight eating ice cream.  Man, I wanted some so bad.  Is there sugar free ice cream that's ok for us?

Hi Ginny from my experince trying different foods has been trial and error.
I had my RNY in August 07 .
AS far as ice cream I have found out I am lactose intolerant since surgery so I have tried SF ice cream thinking it would be ok well I basically felt like I was dying after eating half a cup so I avoid ice cream.
I do know Bryers has lactose free ice cream but the sugar is way up.
I try to stay around 5-10 grams per serving.
Good for you Ginny for keeping the GS cookies at school.
Out of sight out of mind.

Hey Annie:

I am proud you were able to stop at 2.  My surgeon told me that no one expects us to be perfect but we need to think like skinny people and everything in moderation.  He told me if there was cake, instead of a slice, have a bite.  I have found it does the trick most of the time.    Once in a while i eat a little to much but wi**** would bother me more.

Sorry to hear about Rosie but know she is in a better place.

Love you,

Pam

Hi Pam,
I am working hard on increasing the calories and protien and have cut back to burning 800 calories a day.
I have also been cleaning like a wild woman in preparing for my friends from Canada.
There is no doubt I am startting to think like a skinny person as far as amounts.
Tonight all I could do was one stuffed mushroom I felt like something got stuck.
I feel better now and did not make my calories today but working on each day.
Hope to see you soon at a Meetup.

Love you Annie.  When is the next meetup?  As long as David is not home on spring break, maybe Stan and I can drive up.  We lost Matilda last year so I know what you are going trhough...they are truly a part of our families!
