One year and a day.

Well I can't believe it has only been a year ago that I was recoupin from RNY. It seems like a lifetime ago. I was officially a year out yesterday. Since my surgery I have lost 178 lbs. I lost 34 before hand and that makes a grand total of 212 lbs since Sept of 2007. I can't believe it. I am 3 lbs away from being literally 1/2 the woman I used to be. I miss somethings sometimes but I have adjusted well I think. I have learned that I can eat somethings I shouldn't, i.e Girl Scout cookies. But instead of eating the whole box at one time as I would have before, I eat 1 or 2 and I am happy. I also have now lived without out Dr. Pepper for 367 days but who's counting. I really only miss it occasionally. Mostly when I am really tired and pouring something for the kids but I have no faltered there. I hear the pain from soda is bad and I can't make myself do it. I also had 11 lbs of skin removed and a hernia repair as most of you know. I am able to stand more upright not but still a lil uncomfortable. I wont call it pain , just uncomfortable. I put some pics up if anyone wants to go to profile and look. Be fore warned the after pics of the hernia aint so pretty but I still have steri strips and bruises sooo....... I cant wait to see my knew belly button when this is all healed up. Although I have argued with the dr. that it is too high but he tells me thats where it is supposed to be. Mine has never been that high before.... who knew?!?!?

Thank you all for your support and prayers this past couple of weeks and for the last year. It has been an amazing journey and I never thought I would have surpassed the doctors goal at 1 year. Only 32 lbs to go to my goal!!

Thanks again everyone
Melissa

You have done amazingly well!!! Can you believe it's you when you look at your pictures? My head is still playing games on me when I catch a glimpse of myself at only 6 months out - I can't imagine what it'll be like at a year out.

Congratulations!!!! You've been an incredible motivator for me. Thank You!
